Treatment Failure - Stage 4

My husband went thru the shots & ribavirin treatment, 2 1/2 years ago.   Treatment was stopped and he advance to stage 4 liver disease.   Since then, dementia, vertigo have become an issue.    Liver counts are still lower than when treatment started, however, liver has released toxin in his system which is why he has advanced to the dementia & vertigo conditions.   Also is now suffering with leg cramps and headahes.   2 years ago lost his gallbladder, which is when the 2nd liver biosopy was performed.   We applied for Social Security but so far denied and awaiting a hearing.
Would like to know if anyone has had a similiar progression.   I don't know what to expect next.

I had to hire a lawyer in order to get my SSDI..  As they will go before a hearing and you don't have to appear but the 1 time.  He took all my medical reports before hearing board for me.  Good luck, and you hang in there fighting the government...

God Bless,

I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

Have you looked into any of the trials for new meds?  A couple of people on forum have been in them.

Do you have an attorney for your SSDI case?  I've heard it gives you a much better chance of getting approved.

Hang in there,
