TrueBlood?

There is an olden days type Social Side post for you all.

Anybody watch TrueBlood?

(Gosh I miss Jim's American Idol recaps and I didn't even watch that show. He was so into it - it made him so happy).

I have to wonder if Bill twisting Lorena's neck completely around is a vamp's version of
of erotic asphyxiation some mortals engage in.  I mean really, the woman had blood running out of her mouth, looked worse than Madeline Aston's neck after Ernest pushed her down the stairs in Death Becomes Her but had this look  of pure ecstasy on her face. I guess a takes a little more foreplay for the vamps hey?

I recognized the actor who plays eric in a Lady Gaga video.  ... The Poparazzi guy who pushes LG off of the patio ledge.

Oh, yeah...that's right...I like it for the underlying metaphors and social commentaries.

Ok, now I feel shallow because I missed all the deep stuff.   I'll have to pay better attention this week.

I do know Eric is, in fact, hot, tho.  We even get to see his more sensitive side in the latest book.  (just finished it last night)

I agree it's a lot smarter a show than it appears to the eye isn't it?

DD I don't know how you could work that hard on something for that long - my God that must have been something else, I wish I could have seen it!  ANd ps Eric IS hot ;)

Oh yes TrueBlood got an Emmy nomination this morning.  :)

I love all the metafores and underlying social commentaries,  Especially the redneck Dallas (texas) vampires!

I'm a fan!  I'm reading the last book currently, and really look forward to Sundays.  I like that the series doesn't follow the books exactly.  When I started reading the 2nd book, it seemed as if it picked up right where season 2 should....but in the book they killed off a character that I really like!  And so I was very happy to see that particular change....

I used to run an on-line roleplaying game (it was kind of a writer's paradise.  It was all text, you describe everything.  You could 'build' and describe places, homes, buildings, gardens, etc. as you  liked, including the character you played).

It was populated with mortals, vampires, were creatures, magi, and other supernatural characters, and I find TrueBlood to be very very similar, with one exception:  Supernaturals were not out in the open, they hid their natures to live among the humans.  It was based in New Orleans, and it was a lot of fun.  I worked on it for 10 years and then one day..... just lost interest.    Sometimes I miss it, but now I have TrueBlood!

Eric is hot!

IZ...........SOME SAM ACTION......

Sam Trammell was on Chelsea Lately the other night and he said he hurt his knee running while filming the season finale. Sam was also on KTLA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5gUzhzbBVY

True Blood has been picked up for a 4th season and he says about Sam this season, "You will be surprised by a huge twist in my storyline this season." They also show a clip from an upcoming show of Sam and his mom talking.

I think i ended up watching the entire first season in a week!"

My daughter brought over season one the day it came out (of course that is when season 2 started) and we watched it in two days. Then of course season 2 same story......I finally caved and realized that the $15 a month for HBO (and the $5 for unlimited HBO on Demand (meaning you can rewatch TB all month as much as you want) was worth it.

Heck a girl has to have some things to enjoy in life.........even if they are 'bad things'.  ;P

Yeah, it's a learned behavior this love/hate thing with our vamps.

It's much more fun to watch it on TV rather than being part of the blood-letting.

"""Sookie""" - I can't say it here like Bill says it.  I'm hooked on that show as well.  I found it by accident on "on-demand" (I have verizon fios which i hate).  I think i ended up watching the entire first season in a week!  I caught up and now have to wait from week to week to watch it.

I think MB's right - it's a blood thing with us!

I think the books must be a little different than the show, because I don't remember Sam ever getting "messed" with by a vampire.  I still have the 10th book to read though.  Like I said, I am trying to save it.  Everyone should read the books - they are very quick and entertaining reads.  You can read a whole novel in one day.

They haven't revealed what Sookie has in her yet?  Okay - I won't be a spoiler :)

Btw nygirl, I can't believe you wore a Merlotte's t-shirt to work.  That is freaking awesome!

Yeah Izzy I did not like that the 'hard water' scene myself......Sam is just too cute and too good - he's not a vamp he's SAM leave him alone for the ladies - let the vamps do their thing and leave it at that!

When I read that article the part I loved was how come all the hot guys in the world there love the gap tooth girl when nobody in real life would. Uh she is engaged to Stephen Moyer after all so I guess SOMEBODY does think she's hot and well he is a vampire after all ;)

Yeah, I coulda done without the "I hear the waters hard in Arkansas" (or where ever they were) quote.  Not that there's anything wrong with that....but Sam's for us, not BIll!!!

Jason's best friend is Hoyt.

~~~Some Christian I am wanting vampires to bite me!!!!  :-O   ;) ~~~
Ditto.  I even have my daughter hooked now....niiiice.  Oh, well....hot's hot.  It's just for fun.  Back in the day, I totally woulda let Eric bite me, tho.  After I saw his lab report of course, lol!!
I'm not sure the article is that correct since I think the Sookie books came out before the Twilight stuff but - it's just fun reading about the show that is for adults ONLY  ;)
Just found a good article for us:
Sizzlin’ hookups we want to see on ‘True Blood’
True Blood” is “Twilight” for adult consumption only. And this season, the show is amping up the sex quotient with some rocking new adventures, especially now that Bill has betrayed Sookie, who’s bound to find out about his little tryst with Lorena sooner or later.
Speaking of Sookie, have you ever wondered why the gap-toothed gal seems to attract the most mesmerizing semihumans when almost 100 percent of human males find her pretty resistible? Some chalk it up to her telepathic abilities, but last season, Maryann the maenad outed Sookie as not being completely human. That insight explains a lot of her appeal to supernatural creatures.
But with her vampire lover missing, Eric’s blood coursing through her veins and hunky werewolf Alcide accompanying her in her search for Bill, there are a number of potential hookups in store for her and her pals of both the human and non-human variety.
So many tantalizing possibilities! Here are a few we’d like to see.
Here is the link to all the hookups.................
Sookie's best friends brother?  Don't remember his name, his character is so "non-chalent"
Vamps and werewloves all around and he's all calm and "whatever, it's all good"
I don't usually like shows with alot of sex scenes in them but Sookie's brother is just to funny.
That one episode when he drank vamp blood then had to go to the hospital because of (don't think I can say it but would of been a good commercial for Viagra) was so funny.
I've missed alot of episodes, so I netflixed them so I can catch up.
Oh darn competition for Eric (ha like I'd really let a vampire bite me, well he does make me think about it anyway ;-P (tongue hanging out icon hee hee hee).
I just googled this for you - I know my daughter has it on her ipod so it would come up....The theme song is "Bad Things" by Jace Everett.
Trin loves the show too so I'm sure she will chime in when she is back from vacation in a few days too!
I gotta say Izzy if I really had to pick one I'd pick Sam too - he's so hot and at least he's not going to try and drink your blood (even though he's had enough of Bills himself (I did not like the almost homosexual scene though last week - grrrrrr - leave Sam alone he is NOT a vampire!)
When this past season came out on DVD my daughter bought it that first day and then we watched it all weekend together.  She also got us both "Merlottes" waitress tshirts.  I wore mine to work on Monday with black pants (couldn't wear shorts of course) and a belt to act like the apron with a ponytail.  Only TWO people of the 500 here recognized what I was doing.......the rest were like "oh is that where we are ordering lunch from today" I wanted to laugh and say yeah if you are a maenad (how do you spell that one I wonder) or a vampire or zombie or werewolf.......................................but I knew they'd be like damn that girl really IS strange!
(Guess I am strange enough though dressing up like a waitress to come to work in a corporation LOL).
Some Christian I am wanting vampires to bite me!!!!  :-O   ;)
I've only seen like half of the first season of the show, but I love the books.  I've had the last one for a few weeks now, but have refused to read it because I don't want it to be over and have to start my long wait for the next one LOL.
I don't know about the tv show, but Eric is by far the hottest in the books.  A BIG blond buff viking who's been around long enough to know how to do everything perfectly  - Yummy =D
Lol!
I just can't get past the fact that Bill has a foreign accent and is pretending to talk Southern. I lived in Georgia for a long time...I like a "true" drawl.
Do you know who sings the intro song, "I wanna do bad things with you"?
Voice sounds familar.
Sam and Eric are okay but that old "southern charm" Bill has makes me wanna be 20 again and take the into song literally.
Can I say that?
Y'all can have the vamps.  I'll take Sam. (omg, he's so hot...I'm too old to blush like this)
If you like the show...you'll love the books.  I'm totally hooked on both.
SunQueen was a big fan, too.  If she's around, I bet she'll chime in with a fav.
It's the only show I watch besides Survivor.  I just wish the season lasted longer.  This Sunday is gonna be a repeat.
Deb...you're NOT an old prude!!!!  You're a hottie=)
