I would start with Dr. Jacobsen and Dieterich. Nothing against the other two -- really don't know that much about them --  but Jacobsen and Dieterich seem to be attached to more major trials (which may come in handy down the road) and each have have treated a number of people here. Others may disagree, but again, don't hesitate to see more than one liver specialist before making a decision.

Holy cow, Pat, I think the doctor's name is Ira Jacobson cause it sounds familiar and he was at NY Hospital.  I remember him with an comfortable style

(I miss NY!)

Best of luck,
Anna.

1. Ira Jacobsen -- NY Hospital. World class but may not take your insurance but could be the right person for a one-time consult.

2. Dr. Douglas Dieterich, Mount Sinai Hospital. Also world class. Reputation as an agressive treater.

If it were me, and I was starting the treatment journey, I'd see at least two hepatologists in order to get as much input as possible. Hep C does not have a single cookbook, and even the best chef's are not always in agreement.
