Thanks for that, GO.
Again, i'm so sorry to hear about the diabetes, but your attitude is inspiring.
In a strange way, for me the DX has been both a blessing and a curse.
The more time goes by, the more I realize the new opportunities presented somehow seem to outweigh the hardships imposed.
Not that anyone in their right mind would ever INVITE the virus into their lives.
But if it does pay a visit, it seems TO WORK OUT better to accept it, face it and try to deal with it rather than run away from it.

I love it! Thanks for sharing. It is amazing how it really does fit into our life more now than back then.
GO: Ah, one can often change perspective by simply looking at things from a different angle. Is the glass half empty or half full? We are given so many chances to learn more about ourselves. I have had to re-examine many of my own beleifs through this disease. Thank you for encouraging us to think.
MO: I don't understand the idea that God wants us to mourn death. Death is as natural as life, its part of the cycle. Some religions celebrate death as a relief from earthly suffering. Everything that lives will die, be it a flower or a sentinent being. We mourn for ourselves, our loss. The dead don't care if we mourn. Anyway thats my thought.
Its not as if God wants us to focus on something that makes us feel down or whatever, but if one doesn't mourn (or let it out) it can and will be very hard for a person to heal. The people mourned the death of Moses and then moved on.
I think we all know someone who is afraid to let their feelings out and most of us have seen the damage that that can cause emotionally and actually can cause physical problems too.
When you said the dead don't care if we mourn, you are absolutley right. Mourning is for the living as a release or a good bye lets say.
As a Christian I mourn the death of friends and loved ones, very hard to hold back the tears and why would I, but at the funerals we are also there to celebrate that persons life. That is very natural and healthy.
Beautiful, Grand Oak! Thanks so much for sharing this profound wisdom!
I think we try to go through life taking care of everything by ourselves, and being "independent" and "strong."
It's when you're knocked down that you're amazed by the number of people sent by God, to reach down and give you a hand back up.
We resist at first, but when we accept help and realize that others are blessed when they do God's will, we finally understand why we're here. God wants us to help and support each other!! That's when we can finally rest and have peace about our circumstances.
I've always loved Chuck Swindoll...he's such an inspiration!!
I agree. Completion can be very healing. Thanks for explaining.
