anyone else notice

That there are an awful lot of 2/2 biopsy results? I venture to guess, well over 50% posting their results here fall into that category, makes me wonder as to how accurate these results really are..

The name “Generation Jones” has several connotations, including: a large anonymous generation, and a “Keeping up with the Joneses” competitiveness borne from this generation’s populous birth years.

The connotation, however, which is perhaps best known stems from the slang word "jones" or “jonesing”, which means a yearning or craving. Jonesers were the people who as teens in the 1970’s made this slang word popular, but beyond this historical claim, many believe the concept of jonesing is among this generation’s key collective personality traits.

Jonesers were given huge expectations as children in the optimistic 1960’s, and then confronted with a different reality as they came of age in the pessimistic 1970’s, leaving them with a certain unrequited, jonesing quality.

This is some what off topic but as 'baby boomer' was mentioned in an earlier post I had to google it and here's what I found.  Fascinating stuff.

Baby boomer is a term used to describe a person who was born during the demographic Post-World War II baby boom (1946-1964) [1][2] , and is also a term used to describe people of the Baby Boom Generation (controversial birth years: 1942-1953 or 1940-1955 or 1946-1964).

Originally, everyone born during the 1946-1964 boom in births was considered part of the Baby Boom Generation, but over time, the term Generation Jones has been used to describe those born during approximately the second half of that 1946-1964 demographic boom in births as a distinct generation between the Boomers and Generation X.

The victory of U.S. President Elect Barack Obama, born in 1961, significantly increased the awareness of Generation Jones, with many experts pointing to Obama as the first Generation Jones President.[3] [4][5][6]

Following World War II, many countries, such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand experienced an unusual spike in birth rates, a phenomenon commonly referred to as the baby boom.

So it seems we are actually Generation Jones.  Is that supposed to be a pun, do you think?

Well, I was a 2/2 also @ age 49. I estimate I probably was infected for 25-30 years. Drank, drugged and smoked like a fish until age 34, had hit my stride by age 16, hence my suspicions as to the accuracy/interpretation of biopsy testing results(vbg)- still smoke....I just wonder if patients aren't "lumped" into this middle of the road diagnosis by those interpretting the the specimins..

Interesting thoughts.  I contracted the virus about 1996.  Had first bx in '98 and did not get a grade and stage.  The report said, "mild inflammation, no scarring," which might correlate to G1 S0.  Next bx was in 2007, G2 S2.  Then had another bx 17 months later (to qualify for a study) and it was G1 S1-2.  The pathologist wrote that she reviewed the results of the previous bx (both were done at the same facility) and that there was a "significant" decrease in inflammation.

Between those last two bx's I had given up alcohol and was taking much better care of my body, so it was gratifying to see an improvement on bx.

My first bx showed 2/2, I was 42.  Interesting thing is that it is not clear when I actually got infected with virus, as there were 2 separate and different high risk events.  So, it could be that I got it when I was 24 or when I was 29.  Which means the amount of time since infection was either 18 years or 13 years until that first bx.  Also, my next bx, 5 years later at age 47, showed 2/1.

Perhaps my first tx did really have a theraputic effect on my liver but I also have often wondered how accurate my results were in the first place.

Also, from what I've read, there seems to be no correlation to amount of time with virus and liver damage and that in some people it can be very slow and yet in others it can progress very fast...

Good question, Pro....

Do you think it may have something to do with the age of the poster?  Maybe more of those 2/2 are from younger posters?  Baby Boomers (like me) have had the disease longer so more damage?  Just a thought.
