end one journey, start another

I recently completed the Pegasys interferon/ribavirin therapy with great results so far -- viral load is undetectable so I responded.  Now I wait for the 6 mos. to see if I've sustained.  Have high hopes.  I did the non-pegylated therapy back in 2001 and failed. Fingers are crossed!
I wish I had found this forum when I first started.  It was a long cold winter during therapy.  Glad to know I'm not alone.

Peace

Thanks to everyone for their kind words of support.  I've never been one to open up, even to my close friends throughout this ordeal.  I got into this HIV/HEPC mess thru the tainted blood here in Canada (hemophilia).  I'm  really glad to have stumbled upon this forum.
I look forward to getting to know this community and the warriors therein.

mediumspeed (not full QUITE yet, dragon but working on it, rest assured!!)

So FANTASTIC that you not only completed tx but have responded well thus far - all looking good for SVR;  it's winter here for my tx journey - I keep thinking 'the gods must be sad' because it's raining all the time.  The good news is spring/summer and the end of tx is just around the corner.  You must be feeling so relieved - another 6 months to absolute freedom - all yours :-)

Glad that you had good results with Pegasys as that is what they are putting me on as I was scare to attempt this again as I was just going to give up.  I will pray that your 6 mos  you will keep your SVR and never have to look at this again.

The three other times that I was  on interferon it was the non-pegylated and now I seem to be in the hands of the right people.  They have put me on a liver transplant if it came to that point, which I told them would be so hard on my body.  I am like you wish I knew that this site was here in even 2004 as I wouldn't have made half the mistakes that I did but I been down that road and made the mistakes that I did but that is in the past as this is FUTURE and I have to go from here.  Dr.'s saying practicing well that is just what they did, as practice makes perfect with patients.
Talked to Roche and they said that the response is better on Pegasys.  I will pray as I hear your updates.
