I know i had every sx believable in begining, then would get better only to crash again...tx is not an easy road...for anyone...I can tell you that after awhile when you tx for a long period of time that you will always have good and bad days..near the end I was having really bad days....The first couple of days post tx I actually shed tears..haven't done that in awhile, felt good but then I got a stye in my eye..lol...its gone now;) I am anxious to get all the meds out of my system!!!  I hope you feel better soon, just know that tx does stink but it gets better!!! Good job !!  I'm right there with ya'. Feeling much better. Now 'digging out' from the clutter and dirt, even managed to play a little golf. Unfortunately, my gout was killing me after I stopped tx and the doc gave me endomethacin (sp) which cures the gout, but makes me sicker than the tx did but only for a couple of hours. I'm just about done with that anyway. I had my post tx PCR and I'm still undetectable. Next one is in October.

Shelley, so glad to hear you are finished tx and feeling better. That was a long haul you had!! Wish you the best Shelly!

I-horn
Howdy partner. Cool, so you're finished too huh? Groovy. So glad to hear that you are UND. I was away for a while so I don't know if you already opened a thread and let everyone know that you are UND. I hope you did. Jim sniffed my buried UND post out from the bottom of the pile and opened a thread -so watch out.
Congrats I-horn.

Shelly:  You are the Goddess. Keep us posted!

I-Horn: Yeah, why don't you keep us posted!  You've been quiet the last few weeks. The big question is, what did you shoot? What is the timing on your last PCR? 3 month?

My Own: You are so sneaky the way you did the UND.

I'm right with you too and happy that you, I-horn & others are bouncing back!  I'm about 3 wks post tx now and feeling better every day.  I started my new job on Monday and it's going great..Brian Fogg seems to be on his way out, and I don't feel the fatigue like before, and actually almost normal.  It feels great to be staying up past 8:00 now, but it helps that my new job starts at 10:00 at a local school of cosmetology instead of 7:00 at the paint store.  I am still having insomnia, but trying to fight the urge to take a sleeping pill when I can't sleep.
I got my post tx bloodwork done and everything seems to be slowly heading back to normal Yay!
Food tastes good again, but I'm trying to stick to the small portions that I ate during tx, so I can keep the weight off.  All in all life is good!
Have a great day.

Our journey of tx was the most challenging thing to do in our lives.  Thank God it was over at some point.  I just don't know how some of the people here can do more than one tx.  I am in awe of these people.

My sides started to leave pretty quickly for me and by two weeks there was  an extreme difference in me.  I actually did get my brain back; that I believe was one of the hardest things for me was not keep a thought pattern going.  I hated not remembering, so when it started to come back I was elated.

Good Luck to the post txer's and to those who are still on tx.  SVR to ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a Great Day.

So glad you're feeling better.

I'm gonna haveta REMEMEBER that IS the goal!  I'm at week 35 and it's just getting worse every month.  this week i didn't have even one good day and tomorrow is shot time again.

PSP - I noticed the first 6 months were a LOt easier than the past 3.  i just hope that's not an indication of how the remainin 9 months are gonna be.

You know the bizarre thing. I had this siamese that I had got as a kitten. He turned a year old when I started treatment.

Well after I finished treatment he got sick and died. Took him to the vet a cou0le of times but man, he just went downhill in nothing flat. He was really strange. His behavior was sooo odd the last week and I just didn't really realize how sick he was. I just though, hmmmm...cat sure is acting strange.  A week later he was dead. He weighed 4 lbs. He weighed 7 lbs just the week before when I took him to the vet. It's a long story...well not a long story. It all took place over about 10 days but a lot happened. He got attacked by some dogs...he got an abcess that burst....he was SHOT with a pellet gun ( that the vet removed ) . It was a rough 10 days or so for the kitter kat and he just wasn't able to pull it out. Vet pumped him full of anti-biotics. I gave him anti-biotics. No workee...

So, I finished treatment and I feel much better, but I lost my cat who slept at the foot of my bed every night during my tx. I feel like I lost a part of me.

Yeah he was really sick. He was barely able to stand up. He got in the habit of sleeping in the bathtub and the strange thing was,  I would run water for him to drink and he'd sleep in the water yet he was unable to drink. If I had a bowl out for him he'd just hang his head over it but couldn't drink. It all started when he lost control of his bladder. I'd hold him and he'd just pee all over me.  I think he was poisoned. There is quite the politics in the hood over cats/dogs and he used to drink water out of the street gutter all the time. Who knows. But the last few days I'd pick him up and hold him and he'd pee all over me. Poor thing. Man I can't tell you what that frickin' cat meant to me. Very odd. I've had many cats that died. Run over...old age...lost...whatever...but this one hurt. He was just such a good friend to me during my treatment. I feel like I let him down. Oh well....in the end...just a cat and that's all of our fate. My consolation is I spoiled his asss rotten. That cat ate more tuna and broasted chicken than me in his short life....

hey deb,,yeah I thought I got away with sneakin' it in, but Jim tagged me. I hope you are doing well.

I-horn...I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Maybe you should get another one right away -not that it can replace that one but it helps to ease the pain a little. But ya know what ,,,maybe you should keep this next one in the house, I just don't trust people. I can believe that your cat may have been poisoned. I don't know how anyone can hurt an animal, but if they do I believe that is the type that can also hurt a child.

Hang in there I-horn. I know how hard it is when a pet passes on. It hurts so bad, but in time you'll feel better.

Shelly, I am so glad that you are thru and feeling better.  MyOwn, I saw where Jim tagged  you the other day, CONGRATS!

I Horn I am so sorry about your kitty.  I had to put one to sleep two weeks ago myself.  Mine had chronic renal failure that we treated with sub q fluids and lots of meds.  He was the sweetest kitty  ever, and it breaks my heart to think about him.

I did my one year post treatment PCR today.  I can' believe I have been done a year.  I will update when I get the results.

Shelly, I'm so glad that you're getting a life back. You did it, pulled off a long hard tx for 72 weeks. You are svr I'm sure....congrats, and wishes for many happy days ahead....
I-horn--I'm so sorry about your cat, I know how hard it is to have a pet pull you along when you're not feeling well, and then you get better, and they don't. I had a little daschund that laid at my feet after surgery, for a couple of weeks. He would only get up when I did, and lay back down as soon as I got back into bed. He got killed right when I was getting well enough to go back to work. He always went to work with me and I didn't want to go without him. I still miss him....
Deb--how are you doing these days? Tell me all the good things happening in your life, and if there's nothing good, tell me all the cr@ppy parts!
Hugs to all,
Bug

Hi Girl!
Not too bad. I love B12...I've been giving myself injections per my doc and it makes a huge amount of difference; gives me a lot of "i feel pretty normal" time. Have costochondritis which is resolving quick with the Advil (and wonder drug B12). Am finishing the process of getting into Fuller Theological for some distance education classes so I can do some work on my M.Div while I am still treating. Ater today 27 more weeks.

On the cr@ppy side i am having trouble with the local lawyer for the hospital case on hep c. The NY lawyer has much experience with Hep C cases and has won many but the local guy is insecure. My surgeon and I talked yesterday (no more wound care, YAY) and he said these are notoriously difficult to win. Gave me some tips. by the way to get me there's this place that you can send messages to that sounds like it is burning letters...(think!! Think!) and since i used to live in california it is debfromca.....get me?

burning letters.........???? I have my thinking cap on but nothing is coming to mind. Give me another clue, please? Sounds like...turning better, churning setters, learning setters......I give:):) Or is the clue the sound of burning letters? Onomatopoeia? Whoosh! Crackle! Sizzle! I'm really in over my head here.....
Give me the 5 yr old clue package, as if a kindergardener was going to have to figure it out!
Hugs,
