That is what they used to do at my church - the little plastic cups with grape juice in them.......I always wanted more :D
I noticed that in churches in Jakarta they serve the wine for communion in tiny throw away plastic shot glasses. Good thinking, with hep a, tb and other contagious diseases which flourish in the tropics.
I could imagine that they might have had some outbreaks and figured that's how to keep their large congregations from getting sick.
My mom would only let us dip - never sip. I think she was more concerned about the alchohol consumption but it may have been germs. She was a smart cookie. I never have thought it was a very sanitary policy.
Goof -- very good point!
We only get grape juice and a dried up bit of wafer.
Nygirl. You brought up a good point. Before you handle food, wash hands too! dont cough on food. Theres always a line for the thymbol of grape juice and the bread crumb. But never a line to the restroom for hand washing!
Marcia good point on the vacinations.
I dont even like shaking hands with dudes (most dont wash hands) and sharing chips or popcorn with friends especially male friends, gross... Dude we know what you just had in your hand and we did'nt hear the water running.
Another reason to believe in Evolution!
And don't they drink of the wine at those communions? Need I say it?
..... it's like pouring gasoline on a fire it is.
That's why it's good to get the hep A shots... you never know, especially if you travel a lot and have to eat out.
This doesn't surprise me, Christian or any other religion
some of these viruses just don't care.
Thanks for the info ! :)
