there is also a maintance program for people who are waiting or they are trying to keep off the transplant list, I have heard both good and unseccesful stories concerning this.
Now who knows about vader, what ever the case I wish them all the best.
Deb
Vader, can you please come back and shed some light on this....
Marcia
Well if you look at MS patients, some of them are on treatment for life, they are on an interferon, like Avonex or Tysabri only it's a beta not an alpha like we take but it's still interferon.
6 years? Are you on maintenance program? Low levels? Has been succesfull for you at all? I have ehard there are a few who do this,
Deb
If you are currently on maintenance therapy you may have to stop for a while before you do a trial such as telepravir (if they will let you in it). I'm not sure of the qualifications but you've been on interferon on maint for so long it might make a difference.
Have your doctor find out all the information (where is it being held, what about the current dosing of the inf etc) for you - I'm not sure of anything but before you go out of the way to do all the research he should be sure for you.
Good luck
i think vader means she has been on interferon alone and also on combo therapy during 6 years. Of course with stopping in between. Either she is a relapser, non responder or both. And now she is asking if she should would have a chance with Telaprevir.
Are you on weekly injections? For 6 years??? I don't understand how you have survived??

You have been txing 6 yrs. continuously? What are the dosages? Holy cow....never heard of that...
Teleprevir is in trial now, so it's not a matter of 'going on it'. Find trial site in your area and make some inquiries. There is criteria for getting into a trial. Still on interferon now?
