3 weeks of burning sensation

Hi All,

On April 11 I meet a girl with unknown history, we had protected oral (w/condom) and mutual stimulation by hand.  Next day, I felt sore down there and had pink eye, visited doc to get some eye drops and the pink eye went away.

About a month later, around the weekend of May 10-11, I started getting a burning sensation down there, ranging from tip of the male organ to crotch & buttocks.  It felt like a radiating heat and is more pronounced while I'm sitting.  There was no bumps, discoloration, discharge, or additional burning sensation while urinating.

I went to visit my doctor a week later, who performed visual inspection and ordered urine test.  He did not find anything and the urine tests came back negative.  Then the doc performed another visual inspection, didn't find anything, and ordered blood tests, which came back negative.

I looked through the blood tests and noticed that it did not test for herpes.  Discussed the issue with my doctor and he said unless if there was an outbreak, it's very difficult to detect, and he doesn't think that I have herpes and whatever I have will go away on its own.  Just in case, he prescribed a week's worth of doxycycline.

I finished the doxycycline and it didn't resolve the burning sensation problem.  I've now had 3 weeks of this burning sensation, going on week #4 with no outbreaks or pains.  Can anyone tell me if this is a symptom of herpes infection or ?  The burning sensation is usually not there if I'm laying down, but when sitting it just kinda creeps up on me.
