A lot of discomfort not a lot of evidence.

I have been dealing with a great deal of discomfort in my inner thighs and mouth over the past year or so.  I have been religiously looking at websites to find anyone else that has the same symptoms and it seems that some come close, but not spot on.  I understand outbreaks look different for everyone, but I haven't read that anyone has my same symptoms.  I have gone to the doctor and he says what I have looks viral, but he's not sure and the medicine he prescribed didn't help.  What I would like to do is list the symptoms and see if anyone can relate or give an educated guess.

Symptoms:

My inner thighs feel like they're on fire and it almost feel like my boxers catch on tiny nettles.  Almost similar to the feeling you get if you have nettles in your skin from an encounter with a small cactus.

When I rub my hand across the skin I don't feel anything.

There are about five to ten little red dots between both my legs and upon further investigation there is no blistering or clustering.  The five red dots are generously spread out.

I recently visited the south near the ocean and (from what I can presume) the salt in the air made the burning sensation on my thighs nearly unbearable.

My symptoms last for months.

On my lips I have had nearly invisible bumps for about 6 years now (since before the other symptoms started), but when I had them tested they turned out to be nothing.  However, during the time that I am experiencing the newer symptoms, my lips burn very badly.  Oddly enough, the bumps never get any more pronounced or pustule.

At the same time that my other symptoms are flared, my tongue feels like it's on fire, as well.  I looked at my tongue and found nothing there.

I have no other words but a whole lot of discomfort hardly any physical symptoms.

I have no symptoms when I pee or on my penis.

Things to note:

I have three to four beers everyday.  (I note this because I have read places that alcohol is bad for herpes patients)

I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day.  (I note this because when I smoke it really burns my mouth)

I do not eat very healthy, but I work out everyday and I'm not overweight.  ( I note this because I have heard that healthy eating can be helpful for herpes survivors)

Final thoughts:

I don't think I have herpes... scratch that.... I hope I don't have herpes, but I am willing to answer any further questions one might have about my symptoms.

I was told by one of my doctor friends once, "Your doctor can only help you to the extent of your honesty".  So please ask questions if they seem relevant.

I don't sorry. They do sound unrelated ailments (to each other) but may have some underlying similar causes, such as diet, environment etc.

Does it sounds like anything else of which you might be aware?

Thanks for your quick response!

These symptoms do not appear to be herpes related to me at all. Even if you have a type of herpes I doubt that would be causing these symptoms.

You can obtain a blood test for HSV to tell you your status, but that won't resolve too much.

I don't really have any suggestion apart from seeing a disease specialist.
