About Herpes test LGG+ but LGM-

Last week i got tested and my result was HSV 1 LGG 2.1 positive and LGM 0.2 Negative and HSV2 LGG 3.4 positive and LGM 0.4 Negative. Could anyone please tell me about this result? As for the outbreak, i have an itch whole body and some rash in some part of my hand. My doctor told me it was problem with immune system and i didnt tell him about herpes. He gave me medication and i didnt feel itch anymore until i finished the medication and it started to itch again. Am i having an outbreak? other than itchy i dont have any other symptoms. I have been taking acyclovir for the past 3 days and maybe i will get test again after i have finished taking my acyclovir. Could someone please tell me whether i have a positive herpes?for your information, 2 weeks before i went for a test i was taking an antibiotic called mezatrin for chlamydia because i felp pain when urinating. after taking mezatrin i am well and tested negative for chlamydia. so is there any possibilities that the antibiotic has got to do with the LGG being positive? thank you for your help.

google canker sores - usually they are good at explaining the difference. typically cold sores are on the lips and externally and canker sores/mouth ulcers are inside the mouth.

I had a girlfriend and we broke up about 6 weeks ago after a 10 months relationship. She has  HSV-2 but the entire time I was with her, she never got an outbreak. Before engaging with her sexually, I checked with my doctor and he said having unprotected sex with her a long as she does not have an outbreak was pretty safe and so that is what we did. I have not had any symptoms and still do not but after breaking up I decided to get myself tested.

the results came up positive for HSV-1(cold sore/blisters) which I knew I had at a very young age. for the HSV-2 the results was <.91 but for the lgm it came up with 1.39.

It was explained to me that this does not mean I have the HSV-2 but because that lgm number is elevated, there is a a possibility that I may have come in contact with someone with the virus within the past month. My last sexual encounter was with her about 6 weeks ago and this test was about 5 weeks after the last encounter with her.

Can anyone provide any insight into this and could it be that the lgm is just false? again, I have no symptoms whatsoever.

The doctor recommended that I wait another month and get the test done again. A bit nervous, so can someone share some light on this for me?

you need proper testing to find out what is causing the infection before you can decide what to treat it with.

I wouldn't take acyclovir at this point since you haven't confirmed your infection yet.

your low positive is best confirmed with a herpes WB blood test, not the same testing you had this last time.

no, taking acyclovir will not make herpes go away - it's a lifetime infection.

your p artner will need tested too.

I am married and has a son. I will test again next month just to make sure. no, my partner has not been tested. after i have finished my prescription of acyclovir, will my test result turn to negative?how would i know that i will be contagious?

Oh i did not know that test for hsv2 igg could be false positive too. just hopefully it is false positive. at the moment, sometimes when i go for urinate i feel little bit of pain.but only initial of urinating after that is ok. is that consider STD? because considering my test for GO and chlamydia is negative.

Thank you for your time. it is really helpful to have this board.

you need to wait at least 3 months after you last had sex with a new partner to test - had it been that long yet?

has your regular partner been tested yet?

your hsv2 igg is positive but it could be a false positive. you can't get confirmatory testing though to know that until at least 4 months after you last had sex with a new partner.

I have been active in sex for the past 5 years and i have never been tested so this is my first test. i have been tested for chlamydia and GO. all are negatives except for herpes. Prior to the igg testing i did have sex with couple of different partner. is that result means i am positive got herpes? i have been taking acyclovir for 5 days and i have not been tested again. will the test result turn negative once i have finished my medication?am i contagious if i do not have break out?because i am not sure when i will pass the herpes to my wife. i am so paranoid. thank you so much for your advise. i appreciate it.

how long prior to your igg blood testing had you last had sex?

herpes will not cause all over body itching. if your itching has returned, be seen again for further evaluation by your doctor.
