Aciclovir side effects

I've been given a 5 day course of 800mg x 4 of Aciclovir as a treatment for shingles

About a day into my treatment I started to get chills/feel weak (slight fever)
the next, though I was on the mend, but last night - i had SEVERE chills. Literally i was shaking like anything

Could this at all be related to Aciclovir, or did I just coincidentally get another virus at the same time --- the side effects sheet doesn't really mention this.

I'd pursue this further. Less than 5% of people who get a shingles ob ever get a recurrence.  If you've been diagnosed as having shingles more than once then this needs followed up on ( not sure if you've been diagnosed with having it more than once or if it's just the wording you used ).

heh thanks...

uhm the Dr just said it looked like shingles and did a 'change in sensation' test.
actually i went there and they said i came too late, next time come earlier
but then it seemed to spread (or crop up elsewhere on the back) a bout a week later and they gave me the aciclovir

first time i had it - so i didnt realise that shingles gave fever etc (thought it was just the itch/soreness)
