Am i over-stressing having herpes?

Well lets see.. January 19th was a night to forget....long story short i had vaginal sex with a woman... i wore a condom while we had the sexual intercourse. The days following i was very paranoid that i had gotten an STD from her (mainly genital herpes) i am 19 years old and this was my first sexual experience. I have been really scared this last month and some because i am fearing i might have gotten something. I have read everything online and its killing me.. I dont think i have gotten any of the symptoms that i have read, although the other day i saw a red dot on the bottom of my penis...towards my genitals not by the head or ring, it looks like a common pimple because i have seen this similar dot there before.. i went to the doctors and got a blood test...the result came back as "detected" but they were not able to tell me which one was detected HSV-1 or 2, i am so scared and i just want someone to help me not worry as much. Any sort of answers will be appreciated thank you.

Sounds to me like you need to relax. My husband gave me that gift befofre we got married and I can tell you I broke out exactly 30 days later with the migraine from hell. I promise it won't be an inconspicuous dot. YUou will feel like there is a cluster of grapes stuck to your butt. I am exxagerating....a little. First breakout is the worst. I have had it for 26 years now and may have a break out once every few years but know it's coming...I get a red itchy spot above my private parts and my lymph nodes hurt. Lasts about a wek. Don't worry. I think you are fine.

Does this sound like anything serious to you?

sounds like you had a non- type specific herpes igg blood test done which is a waste of time and money :(    Encourage your provider to read the 2010 cdc herpes guidelines to update their education on herpes testing so that they are ordering type specific testing only on their patients.

You were seen and your provider didn't think this was herpes.  If you really need peace of mind, repeat your herpes igg blood test 3 months after the encounter in question and make sure that it's a type specific test so you get more accurate answers.
