Any preventive drug for HSV2?

Hi All,
I am male, 30.  I soon came to know the very next day after having unprotected sex with my girlfriend that she have HSV2(genital herpes).  I with in 10 hours from my intercourse, consulted emergency near by and started taking acyclovir (600 mg 4 times a day).  I know 10-15 day is the window period for Herpes to show up its effects. But,Will this drug produce antibodies to kill the virus in this window period?  Are there any drugs to boost immunity system to fight herpes virus?  Very worried now.  I hope you can understand.  Can some one help me answer my questions at the earliest.

In this situation, my opinion would be stop taking the acyclovir.  Taking the anti viral medicine can affect your igG blood test, possibly causing a false negative.  Having a clear understanding of your numbers is crucial.  I know it is scary thinking you may have an outbreak, but if it indeed does happen at least you can have them swabed and find out your status sooner.  If you do not have an outbreak then your IgG blood test (without anti virials in system) will certainly be accurate.  I wish you the best of luck.  12 weeks will point you to where you will be at 16 weeks, but 16 weeks after encounter is recommended.  I am sorry this happened to you.

Hi.  the only thing that produces antibodies is the bodies reaction to the virus not antivirals. Once its in the nerve there is no drug that can reverse it with present day knowledge.
