Autoinnoculation

My wife and I both have HSV 1 and 2. If either one of us has a breakout should we be concerned with using a condom since we both are already carriers? Would we be reinfecting each other which would result in more sores?

not an issue for you. Just don't perform oral sex on active genital symptoms or perform oral when you have active oral symptoms to err on the side of caution ( plus they are open lesions so you don't want to introduce bacteria into them needlessly ).

abreva doesn't work at all on genital herpes lesions. it barely got fda approval to say it speeds healing of cold sores. It only healed cold sores less than a day faster than a placebo.

red marine algae failed tests in animals for herpes so it never went for testing in humans. we don't recommend it at all.

Not sure I've seen studies on lecithin for herpes to comment on it.

Not real sure I"d use colloidal silver on a cold sore - isnt it painful?

when you have a recurrence of either oral or genital herpes, upping your acyclovir to 800mg 3x/day for 2 days has been shown to speed healing of lesions.

Thank you Grace for your reply. We have found that acyclovir, 400mg twice daily, seems to keep the virus at bay. When there is an outbreak, usually caused by intense stress, the daily acyclorvir shortens the healing time. We have also used, in the past prior to starting the acyclovir, red marine algae, a potent viral and bacterial killer, and lecithin to control the outbreaks. Those two items did very well. For the sores we use colloidal silver topical which is a potent viral and bacterial killer which seems to work better than abreva.
