All the "experts" say no, but I think so

Approximately 10 weeks ago I had unprotected sex.  A week later I thought I had a yeast infection.  Since that time I have been treated for yeast and bv.  I've had every std test imaginable and all came out negative.  My main symptom is constant whitish, fluid discharge.  My other symptom that I have on and off is a pressure that feels like I have to pee.  No lesions or sores.  It has been difficult to obtain a blood test for herpes since in Canada they won't do it unless you have a lesion.  However, I went to the states and got a type 2 specific ag test which will come back in a couple days.  All the std nurses and doctors I have seen say my symptoms aren't herpes but what else can it be?  My question is, do you ever see constant discharge and urinary pressure as the only two symptoms and more so; if it turns out to be herpes, will anti-virals help since there are no sores?  I can't live like this, with the constant wetness and the on again off again pressure to urinate.  Is it possible that I'm having constant break-outs and these are my only two symptoms?  I'm so grateful for any help, as I feel like I'm living a nightmare.  If i find out I'm positive, should I make them give me anti-virals and hope they will help.

I'm so sorry you are going through this difficult time - it sounds like the uncertainty is also adding to your stress.

I doubt very seriously that these symptoms are related to a herpes infection.  First of all, herpes is not a constant set of symptoms - almost always, symptoms are intermittently present.  And when my patients complain of discharge with herpes infection it is most often watery, not so much white.  And the pressure for urination is not a herpes symptom that I hear about.  Pain with urination, sometimes with an outbreak, but not the pressure that you are describing.  Does your discharge have an odor?  Did the BV treatment make any impact?  Have you been evaluated for a urinary tract infection?

You'll be clearer when your test results come back.  If you are positive, your need for antiviral therapy should be based on either symptoms that bother you or risk of infecting someone else or both.  How about if your cross that bridge when you get there?  And if you need more help, come on back with another post.  I hope you get reassurance or clarity soon.

Most probably, though I have people wait 16 weeks, I think this is probably fine.

thank you so much for your comments.  I just recieved my results and they are negative for HSV Type 2 IgG.  I'm just wondering if I waited long enough.  I waited 11 weeks.  I know that often they say to wait three months.  do you think 11 weeks is sufficient to beleive these results?  thank you once again.
