Burn from herpes?

I have a question about the sensation that occurs with herpes?  I have had sensation at top of penis next to body and on front part of testicles that feel similar to razor burn or like mild icy hot in the area.  Almost feels like mild sunburn.  I have not had any signs of itching, tingling or sores.  It has been a week in total since first symptoms were noticed.  I went to dr today for blood testing for type 1 and type 2 although I know is early and plan to return after couple months.. My main concern is if the burnig from herpes resemble this and that there is no itching or tingling or flu like symptoms or swollen glands.  Does this sound like herpes?

Thanks

Actually provider wasnt very helpful at all.. She didnt seem to think it was herpes either but  gave me aciclovir and pretty much that was it..Its been two weeks and still burning sensation but no sores or signs of rash.. I was thinking maybe partner had bacterial infection, yeast infection? Or any other stds that give symptoms like that?  I was told only the sore will burn or it not entire area?

Thanks
