Burning sensation in groin area

I had a short encounter with a female.  Now, 10 days later, my groin area has a mild burning sensation, mostly on the penis shaft and testicle area.  It does not hurt to urinate.  I went to my doc today for standard STD tests.  I am very worried and not sure if what I am feeling is real or just in my head because of my guilt.  I was also wondering if I may have irritated the area because I am constantly moving it around examining it in fear.  Is it possible I contracted herpes?  Very scared..Please help...

if you are continuing to have symptoms, you need to continue to follow up on it with your provider.  not much else we can help you with online at this point.

ahhhh a sense of humor..i like it...another words, I am killing myself because I feel like an ***.  The irritation/burn is probable b/c i am inspecting myself at least 5x's a day.  Chances are that I am fine and very low odds I got anything.  Most likely if I did I would see obvious visible signs..Does this sound right..thanks again...

lower back pain is usually from folks assuming advanced yoga positions to look at their genitals 5x/day  :)

Grace...thank you for your help...one last question and I will leave you alone...how does the lower back pain play into this???  When would you get this??  Also, I read that the primary infection symptoms show up usually in about two weeks.  Is is possible to have a few of the symptoms listed on line without the actual bumps...ie...burn and back pain...

Also, are the leisons always visible???

this does not sound like herpes at all.

as I already said, the odds are low.

you need to igg blood test 3 months after the encounter. 6 weeks is far too early yet.

Grace..

I saw my uroloigst today just to be sure.  He said that he did not see anything.  My reg doc called and told me the herp test that I took was neg.  She did say that it was a tad early (11 days after encounter) to be 100% sure but it gives us a good start.  She wants me to retest in six weeks to be sure and put this to bed.  And no sooner did I get home and inspect myself again....I see just one small red speck on the bottom of my penis near the top.  Just want your thoughts on this all...Am I going nuts...are the odds in my favor...

your provider didn't see anything so odds are you are just having a lot of anxiety about all of this.

the risk of herpes from a one time encounter is very low.

If you didnt have symptoms and "its only been a few weeks since you have done anything" I would assume that the doctor did a bloodtest on you and not a swabtest correct?

Bloodtests cant see WHERE tyou have herpes, perhaps youve had it in your facial region for a long time, which seems more like if it has just been a few weeks, and just not though of it.

The point is; Dont scare this dude up, since he is probobly fine and it seems he is going to be tested with or without fear.

You should add more of the details about how you were tested in your post and Im sure you will recive tips!

I got examined today and doc said there was nothing there...

She mentioned that that the burning sensation would most likely be localized where the infection would come out and not all over the pubic region.  She also mentioned that I might be psyching myself out.  The sensation has gone away for the most part.  What do you think the odds are I contracted herp...???

yes indeed constantly inspecting your genital area will irritate things.

you were seen - did they feel that it was anything going on?

11 days is too early for most std testing. gonorrhea and chlamydia is the only testing you can have done that early. syphilis testing needs done anytime after 6 weeks. herpes and hiv testing anytime after 3 months.
