Can I have a long prodome period?

Basically I performed oral sex and about2 days later I started to feel itchy/hot around my nostrils, between nose and lip, my chin and underneath my eyes. I also have these tiny looking pimples in the tip of my nose and in the crease of my nostrils. There is some redness but I am dark and these pimples are very small ...at first I thought heat bumps. I also feel random pricks all over my body usually at night.

I don't know if its herpes for sure so I will see a doc. But I read that this phase usually lasts for 30 minutes to 2 days before an outbreak. I have been experiencing these sensations for almost 10 days.....is this normal?

Also would it be too soon for a blood test?

No. It was actually my first time doing this and alcohol was involved(not an excuse!)....I'm having a sore throat now..and I think really really tiny pimple looking things are near my lip line....

The doctor said since I have no sores she wasn't sure what to tell me, but it was too early for a blood test.  I got oral swabs done anyway and she provided me canesten hydrocortisone cream for the itching/burning around my lip area.....I just don't know what this is:/

being seen is the best thing to do. typically oral herpes does not present with tiny bumps like you have described.

did you perform protected oral sex?  always a good idea to do so so that you are not at risk for std's as well as saves you from having to test!

does this sound like a herpes issue? no it does not.
