Yes my first herpes sore I had gotten the night before I also had what looked like strep throat I went to the dr the very next morning an had a throat and herpes simplex culture I was prescribed penicillin and acyclovir I got the results a week later my throat culture was normal which I thought was weird and my viral culture was positive for herpes. But yes the sore went away the very next day'! So weird!
Continue with your doctors advise but getting back to the original sore that was swabbed. You woke up one day and noticed a genital sore, you went to the doctor the same day, had it swabbed and got the result the next day and it was gone? Im just trying to make sure these are herpes sores.
On average a 1st time ob lasts 2-3 weeks. recurences are about 7-10 days.
Yeah I've read that on the Internet before that it's possible one of them could have had a herpes sore they both recently got tested for everything because of me and they're both negative so I'm just like what the hell! Before both of them I was with one person for 2 years, I was tested in august because I had chlamydia and at that time I was negative for herpes. Since then I've had te 2 partners that are also negative for everything so idk! Is it possible I've had it for years and I'm just now getting symptoms?
Yes with my initial outbreak I had strep throat well at least that's what my doctor thought and I had one vaginal sore which healed the next day she told me to still finish my acyclovir though ...so do you think my sore from yesterday was a non herpes sore? Acyclovir 5x a day is so much! Should I hold off on taking it until she calls me back?what happens if you take meds for non outbreaks?
Did the sore you had swabbed and confirmed positive with heal then next day? This is my point is that these sores might not be herpes sores, the ones that are disappearing the next day im talking about and if your taking meds for non outbreaks, its something to consider.
Yes the IgG has reliability. Although potentially some issues with HSV1.
Testing does not always include HSV. Hence it would be quite possible for example that one of your partners had an oral cold sore infection.
Oh and to answer your question I guess the timeline does fit but my partner from 2-10 days before has also been my partner for months and he tested negative for everything!!!!
Yeah you're totally right .... I've never had the whole "scabbing" over thing ... My first outbreak my sores went away in a day as well: I know cultures are extremely accurate and clinical error is typically the only thing that could cause false positives. My IGG testing was completely negative but I know that's not really a reliable source so I've paid no atrnwtion to it.
Yeah you're right it's just so depressing! I have no idea where this could have come from I've had 2 partners that have tested negative for everything ... I'm just having a hard time coming to terms with it I think it's just the "forever" word that scares the crap out of me. I get no sleep anymore I've lost 10 lbs in a week :( I've come to terms with it but it's just hard
Hi, if you tested positive with a swab then you would have genital herpes. These tests are very accurate. With the new sore, if it disapeared the next day it would not be herpes related. Once the virus comes to the surface as a sore, it makes the cycle of opening, scabing over and healing which could take a couple of weeks.
With recurrences you can get lesions that come and go quickly and fully forming.
Was the blood test for IgG antibodies?
The swab is unlikely to be wrong, but it suggests you were infected in the 2-10 days before the lesion appeared through oral or vaginal sex, does this timeline fit?
