Can herpes move?

Is it possible for someone to get outbreaks one place on the penis for a while (not very severe) then get an outbreak on a different part of the penis (that is significantly more severe)?

hsv1 genitally doesn't reoccur very often so odds are if you only test + for hsv1, it's oral.

I believe in your prior post I didn't think this sounded like herpes anyways right?

Okay i will go get a type specific blood test done but if it comes back positive for hsv1 (it wont for hsv2, ive only been with one girl and shes only been with me) how do i know its not just oral hsv1 and iv'e never had a cold sore. This is why i think i need a culture test, although if i cant get one by jan 1, which is when i get my health insurance back then ill just get a pcr test done after that.
Thanks for your answers Grace ill let you know after i get the blood test done.

you need to get a type specific herpes igg blood test at this point.

500mg lysine daily isn't an effective dose for herpes. you really can't assume much of anything just because you had less symptoms while taking it.

many things can cause issues  like this. the providers seeing your symptoms don't think it's herpes either do they?

Well the first time i went to the clinic it was swabbed and the test came back negative. But i kept getting outbreaks the problem is that most of them last for maybe 2 or 3 days at the most so its very hard to get to the free clinic to have them tested (it's only open 2 days a week mon and fri) and the last time i went they wouldn't even test it because they said if it came back negative last time it would come back negative again. They told me to come back when it was open and oozing which it never really is, except this spot is much bigger and about 3 inches closer to the base of penis.
I just got done being very sick so maybe my weakened immune system allowed it to spring up in a new location.

Also i was taking 500 mg of lysine daily and it seemed to knock the amount of outbreaks i had in half (thats why i'm almost positive that it is herpes) I also get a pain in my right knee before every outbreak.

blueroan - it's not likely you have herpes on your hands and feet. before you go around telling folks that you have it in all those locations, perhaps you need to first confirm that indeed it is herpes going on. I commented on that in your own post.

tjwilliams - it's normal for herpes lesions to appear anywhere in the entire boxer short area. they won't always be in the same location. did you ever confirm your own status?

You can't avoid herpes spreading to new locations on your body. It will go wherever you touch yourself and even if you don't touch during an outbreak it can and does spread on it's own. Nothing you can do. That is what living with herpes is like. There is no way to stop the disease from doing what it does. Just don't touch the affected areas during outbreaks to minimized the possible places it could go but that is no guarantee it won't. I had mine spread from genitals to facial, hands, etc.. and I didn't even know I was touching anything during symptoms of outbreak. It is very easy to spread when active. AND DO NOT have sex during an outbreak!!! I cannot stress this fact strongly enough. That is dangerous! Even with a condom you can spread it to your partner. An active outbreak is nothing to take lightly. Avoid sex during outbreaks is my advice.

I would just like to know because if i have sex with a condom and an open sore i dont want it to spread to the tip of my penis where it would prob be much more painful.
