thanks catin, as i say im experiencing burning sensations in the feet and toes plus my fingers and like ice burning feelings in different parts of the body including my face, the ph of my skin seems to have changed to and my head breaks out in bad acne when these episodes start, plus my stomach has been growling this 10 weeks now, is it possible these ailments could be due to hsv-2 and if so then why does the doctors not agree, thanks for your imput by the way, your the only one that has made any sense yet
I see. The two HSV types behave quite differently, depending on the site of infection. Both HSV types can be either above or below the waist. However, they don't shed at the same rate. Oral HSV-2 hardly, if ever, recurs, and its shedding rate is quite low. So the chances of your one-night stand having passed it from his mouth to your genitals are also quite low - not zero, because there is still a shedding percentage for oral HSV-2, but pretty darn low, nonetheless.
HSV-1 is a different story, in that its responsible for 1/3 of new genital infections, primarily through oral sex. However, since you already had plenty of protective antibodies, it's virtually impossible for you to have been re-infected with it, even genitally. If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say that your symptoms are almost sure to be due to something other than HSV.
thankyou catin, im in belfast northern ireland and yes i went to a free clinic as all our medical services are free over here on our national health service, over here they refuse a blood test if there are no visible signs like sores and blisters!! the reason for my question on receiving hsv-2 from receiving oral are because i have been reading posts on the forum from what doctor hunter hansfield has to say on the subject, one post i read recently he quotes the only herpes virus you have to worry about from unprotected oral is hsv-1 and not hsv-2, im somewhat confused here as i already have hsv-1 orally from i was a child, in other posts he has stated that in his 30 years of practice he has never seen a case of hsv-2 being transmitted from receiving unprotected oral so that also adds to my confusion?
I"m afraid Grace may no longer be posting. She announced her "retirement" a few months back.
Are you in the U.S.? If so, fire your doctor. You should be able to get a blood test if you want it - you have the right to make decisions about your health. Find someone else who will order a test for you.
Or did you go to a free clinic?
Yes, you can get HSV from receiving oral sex even without symptoms. We can shed virus at any time - the statistics are meaningless, since all it take is one time for conditions to be right. We can be that fraction of 1% - the risk is never zero.
However, it's important to know that your symptoms could very well be due to other things that you'll want to rule out. Good luck to you.
does anyone else have any ideas on this topic, where are you grac?, i really would appreciate your imput here as well
No to your face, only your penis, if your concerned see a doctor as if its a yeast you may need some cream to help clear it up.
hi life, thanks for the quick response, the texture on the head of my penis chamged after 2 weeks and is like an orange peel effect when erect but not visible when soft, also the sides and back of my head break out in bad pimples for some reason and my eyes fell gritty in the mornings, the burning and tingling is worse at night in bed, also the texture on my face seems to have changed also, it seems to be going like leather or something, could a yeast infection do thais, ive had no discharge or anything
Hi, with no lip sore on his part the odds on contracting herpes is extremely low as shedding does not occur that often. Sounds like more of a male yeast infection from a change in your skins PH or an injury to the inside tip from the sex act itself. Just keep an eye out for any blister type sores developing.
