Is it possible to give myself genital herpes?

I just had my initial heroes outbreak maybe 2 months prior, I felt unusually sick but I had no cold sore from what I remember but every other symptom was there. Approximately two months later I got my first ever cold sore, I felt fatigued and had symptoms that connected with cold sore but the sore itself did not hurt, it was just annoying now about three weeks after that I have no sores on my lips at all but I'm scared that I may some how mistakenly transfer the virus to my genitals. How can I prevent that or is it even possible? My doctor that I saw about it said it wasn't possible but the internet says otherwise so I'm confused. I just had a scare because I was using the restroom and my finger briefly brushed against the inside of my thigh approximately 4 inches away from my private area, I got scared and sprayed my thigh and everything down there with some disinfectant spray (I know this is probably crazy) and possibly 15 minutes later washed my thighs with soap and water, is it possible to have given myself genital herpes? (I didn't  have a sore on my lip present at this time)

I have hsv 2 and trust me it does not happen that easy. It takes bodily fluids that contain the virus. Virus cant live long outside cells or our bodies so getting herpes in your genitals because of that is kind of not possible.

So both situations have no risk of transmission?

Don't worry you will not transfer hsv to your genitals. You body will produce antibodies to keep it in check and you can't spread it the way you describe. Or any other way realky.

Hi thank you for answering! I have one more inquiry um let's say I was drinking water and it fell from my mouth onto my thigh and then I go to the restroom and my underwear happens to brush against where the water was on my thigh (it was still kind of wet) and then I happen to put them on, could it transfer then? I know these situations may seem absurd but I'm really freaking out about this, I just want to keep me and others safe from further infection. Thank you again
