HSV 2 and Sex

My wife and I having a devorce, just because she had hsv2 and were not able to explain how. Her Doctor suggested may be from prior affairs since I do not have hsv2, but she is saying she did not have any prior sex partner. Is that possible to have hsv2 while she was having sex only just with me? To give you all a more clear picture we found out about it in a routine pregnancy check up and then I went and also tested to found out that I was negative.

the second test was done with a same Dr to check if that was a false +ve, we clearly told the Dr. this could some type of mistake and then he did the second test.I am thinking the Dr looked in to the numbers from both tests and concluded it is not false. She even took medication to privent not passing it to the baby. please let me know if you still would like the result.

yes you can have 2 false positives. can you get your wife to call and get her 2nd test results?

I am not sure if any of the test results are at hand since it has been a while from the test was done. But we did a second time test to make sure it was really there and the Dr. confirmmed once again. Could it happen twice if it was a false positive.

if you are the only partner she's ever had then odds are it's a false positive. if you can get her test results to post here, I can help you more. All I need to see are the actual numeric results - ie hsv1 igg 6.6 and hsv2 igg 2.1 or whatever they are.

Hi Grace, Thanks for your reply, my wife is saying she never had sex with any one else and I am the only one. And my question and her Dr question was how could this happen with out having sex with some one who has the hsv2, my test indicated that I was hsv1 positive but not hsv2. Please any one knows any thing like this explain it to me.

if she had any partners prior to you, yes indeed she could've had hsv2 before she met you and never knew it.  Odds are that neither of you were ever tested for herpes before to know your status.

do you recall what her hsv2 igg was?
