Paranoid of Herpes
I had an unprotected oral sexual encounter 2 weeks ago. I both received and and performed. I know nothing about the girls past. there were no visible sores but I could have missed seeing small ones. Approx. 4 days later I developed an itch on my foreskin. nothing soothed until I tried some anti fungal cream which seemed to instantly relieve and no irritation since. However every little bump and pimple I develop or maybe have just noticed are all freaking me out. I had blood testing done a week after but understand that's too soon to be dependable. Am I putting other people at risk? I wouldn't say I have classic symptoms but every itch makes me freak out. Just looking for peace of min :/
It has been over 3 weeks and no classic symptoms. However a well defined coin sized rash on my shaft has developed and has been present for 3-4 days. It is itchy, red, raised, slightly shiny. No visible sores or blisters. Hydrocortizone caused a burning sensation till I wiped away excess cream. it seemed to recede the second day but has returned. I of course am seeing a doctor soon. Are my symptoms typical of a herpes infection?
The can appear painless but more often than not, esp with hsv2, they would be painful
Of course, one final question just out of curiosity. Will herpes lesions always be accompanied with pain and irritation? Or can they appear painlessly?
Your symptoms could be anything and all is just speculation. Youll need to get tested 3 months post exposure.
Another question, I've read about flu-like symptoms being a possible clue. However, if herpes induced flu-like symptoms did occur, would they all occur or could they occur by themselves. For example, the past day I have a little soreness in my throat, but no swollen glands, fatigue, fever, etc.
Thank you, I've been scouring the internet for symptoms and haven't seen "typical" symptoms anywhere on my body, however many sites ambiguously mention "mild" symptoms which I admit is feeding my paranoia.
Hi, topical irritations are mostly likely fugal and thats why the cream helped. Dont be to alarmed as it well maybe a pimple. You can do 2 things, wait for a new sore (pimple) and have it cultered within 48 hours after appearing or get a blood test in 3 months.
