Cold sore possibility

Today I kissed a girl for about a minute, then we had sex. She has been wanting to kiss for a while now, and I didn't. I told her my fear of cold sores and she then told me she has had then, but doesn't get them often.

I'm pretty much shook up about. There were no visible sores on her lips but I'm just nervous about the whole situation.

You have posted quite a bit in the std forums. Hiv and hsv. You seem overly worried about this. You might want to talk to someone about your fears.. Up to 70% of adults have oral hsv1. Fearing getting cold sores from every kiss seems irrational.  Yes no one really wants hsv or even a cold from someone else but the fact remains avoiding life in general is not a healthy outlook.  Now if your partner has an active cold sore avoid contact. No lissing or oral sex (receptive anyway) other than that enjoy your partner or someone else will. I know I wouldn't be with someone who wouldn't even kiss me.

And this is how you want to live life?

As Asterix says "We have nothing to fear but fear itself... and the sky falling on our heads!"

This is ridiculous.

It just doesn't matter if you get cold sores, you might already have the virus and not know it.

If it does matter to you, then you cannot have any physical contact with another person.

Life is to be lived, this is up to you.

You didn't kiss a girl because of cold sores, really?
