prodromal/aborted symptoms

Hi!  A little history first.  I was diagnosed via a swab for genital hsv1 last Feb 2011 during my first and so far only outbreak.  I take acyclovir 400mg twice a day although they say it isn't recommended for ghsv1?  I do it for piece of mind since I suffer from anxiety.
I have two questions.  My question is...Saturday night I experienced my first very distinct tingling sensation on the area I had my first outbreak.  It came and went but yesterday, Sunday I felt it at least 6 more times.  Again very distinct and not imaginary.  I also felt off all day.  I doubled up on my acyclovir last night and have started this morning taking 800 mg three times a day for two days.  I still have no obvious lesions/sores/tears.  If I am able to prevent a breakout, my question is how long am I contagious during this?  I havent felt any tingling since last night.
Second question...I have begun dating a man, going on almost four weeks.  We have yet to even reach second base but Im getting VERY nervous because Im really starting to like him and know its going to be moving forward.  I have yet to have to have the "talk" with anyone and dont know how too?  Im so afraid of rejection :(  How can I tell him?

yes the handbook is on Terri's westover heights clinic site.

wait a few days after the tingling has stopped before resuming sexual activity.  should the tingling last more than a week and no obvious lesions, be seen for proper follow up.

Thanks for responding.  And  thank you, found the book online last night and read it.  I think it was on some clinic website I found?  But I guess my question is that I cant find anywhere is-
I know one can be shedding at anytime, but I have read that you are most contagious right before, during and a few days after a outbreak.  So, would I be just as contagious for a duration of days if I was able to abort the outbreak? Or if Im able to avoid it would the virus gone back into "hiding"?  Does that make sense?

it's hard to say how long you would be contagious for, because you could be shedding the virus at any time. have you read terri warren's book 'the good news about the bad news'? she talks in there about how to tell a partner.
