Could it be or possibly not?

I know this is a little long winded, but stay with me.

17 days ago I visited a SW. Something I truly regret and wish I could take back, but here I am. She performed protected (condom) oral sex. She did not have any sores or outbreaks that I could see.  She did remove the condom and finished with a lubricated HJ (mouth did not contact penis). The part that concerns me is she did lick my scrotum while the condom was on. Typically I shave/trim this area, but I had not done this for 2-3 weeks prior to this event. To my knowledge, I did not have any cuts or open sores.

15 days ago I started on antibiotics (doxycycline). I’ve used this in the past to treat reoccurring prostatitis, which I’ve dealt with off and on for the past 2.5 years.

10 days ago woke up and noticed I was itchy in the groin. In the area between the thigh and groin around the waistline, to be specific. This turned into a burn/tingle as the day went on. Later in the day I noticed my inner thighs on both sides, part of my waistline, under both armpits, and the inside of one elbow had developed a rash. For the most part the rash was symmetrical. I also had tingling pain in the groin and armpit lymph nodes. I visited a prompt care. They told me I had become allergic to the antibiotic and to stop taking it. They prescribed 9 tablets of 20mg Prednisone as well as Benadryl. The rash was 50% gone the next day and completely gone in 2-3 days. My inner thighs and the area above the penis below the waistline was still pretty swollen.

Between 9 and 4 days ago I experienced lymph node tingling/pain. No fever that I know of. Random cold chills and dizziness.

2 days ago I visited my primary for a follow up. He said my groin lymph’s were a little swollen and prostate was a little “wobbly”…whatever that means. I’m waiting for results on chlamydia and mono tests.

1 day ago, just after I had come from the Dr., I noticed a raised bump on my inner thigh, about 2 inches from the groin crease. It’s about 5mm in diameter and hurt a little bit when clothing rubbed against it or I pushed on it. Today it doesn't really hurt as much. It has a short hair coming out of the side of it, not the center. It’s a reddish color, a little darker than regular skin. The skin around it (12-15mm) is red and irritated too, but flat. The bump does not show any signs of fluid or typically pimple white head. The bump is semi hard when pressed on.

Long story short, do these symptoms or the bump sound like I contracted a herpes virus in the genitals? I had a blood test (not sure what type) several years ago and it showed negative for both types. I’m probably overacting but this bump thing has me really worried as the “flu like symptoms,” “everyone is different,” and “could look like a pimple or bug bite” descriptions you see everywhere don’t help much. The symptoms I've had in the past with prostatitis (tingling/pain in the shaft, scrotum, inner thigh, and down the back of the legs) continue. These make it hard to decipher what is going on too. Just worried I won’t be able to get another Dr. appointment to have this checked before it disappears.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m still freaking out a little here. I was able to take a picture of the red back in order to get a better view. It appeared as though it had a black line running across it. So I’m like cool, probably just an ingrown hair. It’s been 5 days since that showed up and appears to be getting better (bump is receding and is smaller). There also was a ring around it, kinda like a layer of dead skin was shed.

And then 2 days ago, 20 days from possible exposure I got this horrible pain (like a charley horse) in my right leg. It went from my inner thigh, down the back of my leg to the back of my knee. My calve muscle was even twitching a little. Never experienced anything like this. It was bad enough I could not sleep, but I could walk fine. It did not hurt to touch. Thinking I was probably dehydrated, I drank plenty of water the next day and ate a couple bananas for the potassium. Later last night both of my inner thighs in the lymph area was hurting. It does seem to get better when I stand.

Just worried that I had a rash (groin and armpits), flu-like symptoms, a red bump, and now muscle pain….all symptoms associated with HSV. All things that can be contributed to something else as well, but very coincidental. I hate how you cannot find typical times between each of these stages anywhere, because they all state “everyone is different.” Freaking out here!

Hi, using a condom for the oral would be zero risk for herpes and merely licking your scrotum would be not much of a risk either as that area the skin is too thick for the virus to enter and she would have to rub her lips with friction and have a lip sore to be at risk as oral hsv1 does not shed that much.
