A bit of history, the encounter I am concerned about is an unprotected sexual encounter which happened 9/3. I had my bloodwork done this week and the results came back today:
[HSV 1 IgG 40.50 index]
[HSV 2 IgG <0.91 index]
[HSV 1 IgM <1:10 titer]
[HSV 2 IgM <1:10 titer]
Now obviously I can tell that I am positive for the HSV1 virus, and thankfully negative for HSV2. My first question is, did I leave a long enough window for the virus to develop before getting tested? I had a previous unprotected encounter with this same individual a week+ prior, so that adds a few days as well. I also don't recall ever having an initial outbreak or symptoms. I am asking because I know for a fact that I contracted HPV from this individual, as I did notice a wart in my urethra (surgery scheduled for December), along with symptoms of mild itchiness around the lower testicle and lower pubic area, with tingling and slight irritation in my urethra, and also on rare occasions a slight tingle on my anus, however no pain, burning, or irritation during urination. About a week ago, I noticed a very small wart/pimple/herpes? form on my right buttock, which went away on its own within a day and a half. It is also important to note that I am overweight, so the itchiness of the genital area may be for other reasons not related, however I can't be certain. My question is, if the result for HSV2 came back negative, is it safe to assume that my symptoms are HPV related and not HSV related? I have an appointment scheduled in two weeks with my primary physician, but in the meantime, I hope someone here may be able to provide some answers to my questions.
Thanks
