Thank you for your very quick response!
I don't remember having had a cold sore, but figured maybe I had one in the past sometime and didn't remember or recognize it.
Really shocked I don't even have HSV 1.
yes it does.
you don't need an exact number when it's a clear negative like that.
I finally got blood tested for HSV 1&2 and got the results back Wednesday.
My Gyno used HSV1&2 type specific Igg and Igm testing from LabCorp.
My results came back negative for HSV1&2 on both the Igg and the Igm select tests.
It didn't give me an exact value number, just gave the range and under my value it said <0.91
Does this mean I am in the clear?
Thank you Grace. I will schedule a visit to mine and hopefully get rid of these recurring bumps.
these do not sound like herpes symptoms you are having. Sounds like ingrown hairs more than anything. Perhaps at this point a dermatologist would be best to help you get your skin issues controlled.

Thanks to both of you for responding to my questions. Much appreciated. :-)
Hi also, most at risk for contracting herpes are in long term mono relationships where one partner is infected.
First time herpes only breaks out at point of contact so if he did not romantic kiss your groin area, any irritations there are not herpes related. Also with him not having any lip sores at the time, your risk would be close to zero and as Fleetwood mentions, touching is not how hsv2 is passed.
Thank you Fleetwood for answering.
Another question I have, could herpes just be confined to the groin and never be on the vulva or vagina?
I continue to have breakouts on and off in my groin (top crease of my leg, pubic hair area) but have never had any of them change or be a blister or vesicle. They are always red bumps. Usually only mildly itchy occasionally but usually not too itchy and not painful.
If someone has herpes could it just be this area and not anywhere else?
You would get multiple lesions at the site of entry for a primary infection of herpes. A bump well away from the possible infection site will not be related to herpes.
If you already have oral cold sores, HSV1, then you are not likely to become infected genitally with HSV1.
HSV2 will not transfer the way you suggest. You'd have to receive penetration for any realistic chance of infection.
