Couple with Herpes

We are a couple who became infected with herpes at the same time. Following a course of Aciclovir, she no longer has symptoms but he still has sores present on the penis. The sores have scabbed over and look to be healing - is it safe to have sex without a condom during this time? Or is she at risk of re-infection or a flare-up?

there's not a risk of reinfection but you want to wait until the skin has returned to normal .  Having sex too early can cause more pain which I know neither of you wants.

I would just wait til they are completely gone. Though, why don't you use Aciclovir too? Or another type surpressive medication?
