Curious but need to know

So I went to the urologist today and was diagnosed with prostatitis. Does herpes cause prostatitis?

Herpes simplex can cause prostatitis. However, have you had herpes symptoms? Been tested for herpes either by swab or blood test?

It is possible herpes can cause this, but there are other causes. Without symptoms, I would test again in a few months, and if still negative, it is most likely accurate.

Hey DMAABS,

The only symptoms I've had are the prostatitis symptoms and then I've had skin sensitivity on the back of Both thighs in the same spot on both. And I got a HSV 2 IGG test a week ago which was 8 weeks and came back negative. Did I test too soon? Or would I get an accurate reading at 8 weeks?

Personally, I haven't had back thigh issues and I have actual OBs. You got tested 8 weeks after prostatitis was diagnosed?
