Is there a risk of herpes

Ok this may sound a bit OCD or paranoid or it may not, but here it goes. So my cousin has oral herpes(she's also having an outbreak right now) and yesterday morning I touched her toothbrush. This was a couple hours after she brushed her teeth. I didn't touch my genitals immediately after but it's possible that I did touch them without washing my hands but I really don't remember.
Please let me know what the actual risk of having passed the virus to my genitals are

As our members mentioned this is highly unlikely.  We're going to close this thread now and wish you the best.

Same reason why is close to impossible to get it in a public restroom, the virus doesnt live long enough outside the human body and you touching a toothbrush that might have had the virus and then touching yourself down there sometime in the day... Well enough said thats a long journey for a virus that can only live in a human body. You are more likely to get an anxiety attack from all the stress you are putting yourself through.

Sorry about that. Delicate. It dies very fast even a few minutes later the virus would die off.
As a hsv community leader I would not tell you there is zero chance without knowing this for sure. I promise you that you have nothing to worry about. I have spent many hundreds of hours on this subject and you my friend are fine. There was no virus to transfer. And the fact you touched a toothbrush and then your genitals is no risk at all.

I don't mind the aggressiveness, it's what helps my anxiety the most. I need to feel like what I'm worrying about it is beyond ridiculous

It still doesn't matter. Please I mean absolutely no disrespect when I say take a deep breath and relax. Lol
This is exactly why we do not get hsv from toliet seats and things of that nature. The hsv virus is very deli

One last question, would there be a difference in risk if I touched my genitals right after touching the toothbrush

The toothbrush having hsv on it at the time is a long shot because the virus would have to be shedding at that time.
It still doesn't matter as like I said, the virus dies very quickly. I will say this one more time you have no chance of contracting hsv period. There is absolutely no scenario in which this will give you genital hsv.
Latin lady is incorrect in this case.

The virus was shedding, she's having an outbreak right now and that's why I'm worried

Is that even a posible way to contract herpes? Yeah... I dont think it is impossible but almost. It is mostly because of direct contact with the virus.

Thank you for your insight

How much more help do you need than zero risk. The virus if it was present on the toothbrush. Which is a long shot to begin with. Would only live for a few minutes. Not hours. Again you have zero risk. That means none what so ever.

Why would the viru being present on the toothbrush be a long shot
Also Latinladypr is saying the risk isn't zero, so I need more than one person to assure that it actually is impossible
