Do I really have hsv1,2?

Hello I’ve been on this website for 2 days reading and doing research I got a full std check and the doctor didn’t call me I called them for my test results after 2 weeks...the doctor told me I tested positive for herpes and walked out giving me no explanation or nothing I was shocked because I don’t get cold sores or have out breaks.. so I paid for my test results the hsv1 came back 1.31 and the HSV2 came back 0.48 could you please help understand?

Your positive hsv1 numeric value is very low. Anything less than a 3.5 is suspect for a false positive. If I were in your shoes I would retest in a few weeks. In the meantime try and relax there is a real good chance this is a false positive. It's pretty common in hsv testing. This is why many experts do not recommend testing in the absence of symptoms. 90% of people do not have hsv1. For adults it's a little over half the population.

From what I read....almost everyone has hsv 1[ 90%]
So maybe that's why you were posotive.
