Do I have herpes?? PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi,

On Monday I performed oral sex on a partner I have hooked up with before. I have asked him in the past if he had anything I should know about. I was told no. I have never gotten any of the symptoms after encounters with this partner before so I don't know what to think. Around Tuesday, I noticed I had small white/reddish bumps in the roof of my mouth and bottom of my tongue. They're not all over just in select spots but not very many of them. I have had no sores that crusted or anything that looks like a typical herpes outbreak. I went to a dr told and have a full STD tests ran, results should be back Wednesday. The doctor herself also said that she highly doubt its herpes but better safe than sorry. I wanted to know if others have seen anything like small reddish/white bumps scattered over the inside of the mouth and it be herpes. I have no sore throat, no pain at all. Just the bumps. Any information would be greatly appreciated. She prescribed me Amoxocilin in the meantime.

You are right. Amoxicillin would do nothing for herpes. This further proves that what you have is most likely not herpes.

Franklin,

After day two of the Amoxicillin, the mysterious bumps have started to disappear. I'm guessing it's extremely safe to assume its not herpes as the amoxy wouldn't cause it to go away because it's used to fight bacterial infections and not viral infections?

Well after having two very informed people tell me it's most likely not herpes so I feel reassured in that sense.

All you can do is wait for the results. I'm extremely allergic to amoxicillin so be safe with that stuff! :)

I got tested in January 2011 for everything as well. Once again, negative. So my herpes status before this incident is negative as well.

Oral sex in general is a low risk for STDs. Your recent doctors advice definitely trumps anything anyone on this forum has to offer currently. Try not to stress so much and trust your doctor.  I also agree with her that this is probably not herpes. Kudos on being tested. When you get the results you can post them on here for someone to interpret and read to you if you need clarification. Did you know your herpes status before these tests?
