Do I need more tests?

Hello. On January 14th, 2011 I was experiencing irritating genital symptoms that brought me to urgent care. I have been tested for herpes antibodies in my blood on 3 occasions since that date.
Herpes Select IGG test results indicated
HSV I 3.2, HSVII 0.21 on January 14th, 2011
HSV I 3.39, HSVII 0.39 on January 31st, 20111
HSV II 1.10, on May 4th, 2011 (The physician would not administer the HSV I antibody test).

My last sexual encounter was over four months ago on January seventh, 2011 and I have not had sex since that date.I am not sure if my symptoms are due to HSV I or HSV II. Should I complete another antibody test 2-3 months down the line because my HSV II score is a low positive or should I have a viral culture done, or both? Does the gradual increase of my HSV II scores across the last four months indicate recent infection?

It should show up by 3 months for majority of people.  Some may take 6 months but that is a rare amount.

Thank you so much for all your feedback and information. How long does it take for HSV II antibodies to show up? I will likely get retested for antibodies and get a viral swab during symptoms.

yeast infections with menstruation are pretty common.  If you are prone to them, odds are you'll get them regularly. some women get relief with bc pills and getting their periods less often while others unfortunately never really do get a lot of relief from them until menopause.

hsv1 genitally doesn't reoccur very often on average. Only way to accurately diagnose it is to be seen when you have symptoms and get a lesion culture and typing done.

only 20-40% of folks who have hsv1 orally, get obvious cold sores to know it.

The doctor suspects that my symptoms are due to herpes and so do I. One year ago I ended a 3 year relationship with a male that had HSV-1 and who frequently performed oral sex on me. One year into the relationship I began to get recurrent yeast infections around the time of menstration. It has been driving me crazy for years...I repeatedly saw the doctor but they could offer no substantial or long lasting remedy. I remained abstinent until the time of my first noticeable outbreak. I have never had a cold sore in my mouth, or facial area EVER. I am obviously positve for HSV 1 according to antibody test. However how likely is it to be positive for HSV 1 and never show symptoms of a cold sore? I'm wondering if my genital herpes is due to HSV 1. How long before a last sexual encounter before your blood test shows a solid antibody EGG  score?

your hsv2 igg is just barely positive and is most likely a false positive.

no significance in the gradual increase in your results.

what have they been telling you is causing your symptoms?
