Can getting a hsv-1 and hsv-2 igm test 12-13 days after sex be accurate?

I had my first unprotected vaginal sex on December 17 (4pm) and December 18 (12pm) with a new partner. Both sessions lasted only around 3 minutes each. I have no other symptoms of herpes except that my urethra has had a feeling for the past 5 days (Dec 26-Present). It does not get more painful when I urinate and there are no discharges. I believe the pain has been constant in these past few days except for today where I would say the pain has very slightly increased but is still not very noticeable. No blisters or sores or any rashes around my body. The only thing that disturbs me is that I started sore throat on December 24 and turned to cough and colds (common cold symptoms) on December 28. I don't have body aches, fevers, fatigue, or spots around me.

I took an hsv-1 and hsv-2 test 1 hour ago today which I will know the results of on January 5. I was planning to take a PCR test for HIV, but they will only do HIV tests next week. I have not yet tested for bacterial STD's because of my cough and colds which really worried me because I believe viruses are more likely to exhibit common cold symptoms than bacterias.

What do you experts think about my situation? Thank you very much.

I wouldn't of even tested. Igm tests are absolutely useless and should NEVER be given. They are very unreliable and full of false positives. You will have to wait 12 weeks from exposure to get a igg test.
Condoms are your friends but this sounds nothing like herpes at all

Thank you for the reply I might consider an igg test next time. Any idea what it can be though?
In my experience when people are worried about a sexual episode they become almost hyper aware of every genital sensation. What you describe fits perfectly in that box. No std acts like you describe.
I also read sir Hunter stating something like that in an old post. However, my problem is that sometimes I am not even paying attention to it and I do feel something. I guess I should just consult a doctor and do some basic tests to be on the safe side. Thanks for the help much appreciated.
Can i ask what brings you to this forum helping people out?
You're very welcome and a visit to tge Dr is never a bad idea if you are concerned. I too had a scare and felt the same types of "symptoms" since then I have done hundreds of hours of research, read the study's and have had correspondences with many top hsv experts as well as the lab techs at the university of Washington. The folks that do the Western blot test. I too came here for help and never left. Lol. Medhelp made me the community leader on this forum. Just paying it forward for the help I was given.
I see it's great to see someone like you still contributing to this forum. I might go to the doctor soon. I have gotten back my igm tests and hsv-1 is negative equivocal positive with a value of 1.9. While my hsv-2 is negative equioval positive with a value of 4.2. I do not know what they mean
Correction: negative is 25 is positive. My igm results is negative then. This was 12-13 days after the exposure
I have taken a urinalysis (for chlamydia and gonorrhea and doctor said it was normal), hsv-1 and hsv-2 igm test for herpes 12 days after exposure and I was negative for both. Today, I am 22 days from exposure I still have no unique symptoms except the slight tingling which I still have until today but less noticeable than before. I have read someone having the same experience where they have had tingling for months and turned out to be herpes. What do you guys think? Am I just paranoid?
