Do you need a prescription for the Western Blot of BioKit Test?

FWW
How can I go about getting a confirmatory test with the BioKit or Western Blot? I have an IgG of 2.71 for HSV 2.

Well we went to an urgent care and they ordered the test for him. We then over nighted it to the University of Washington lab. The test came back indeterminate. The counselor he spoke to told him that usually happens if he tested too soon but he tested 7 months after last possible exposure. She then said he could be one of the rare people who have the antibodies at a very low level but are still negative. She also said it could possibly be HSV1. She said he could retest in 6 months or could get an Elisa test done locally. He is not sure what he will do. His first test came out with a 2.44. He seems as if he is probably negative but we won't know for sure until he tests again.

Hello! How did you get a kit and where did you go to get it done? I'm dying to get the Western Blot! I got a 1.04 and the tech at planned parenthood said I was positive and my research says that is in the middle of the equivocal zone! Please guide me through the process!

O ok I'm curious to know how it turns out for you! I'm talking with Terri in the expert forum and she can get you set up with a lab around here to draw and send it in. Not sure on the details but that is the route I plan on taking when I get to the 16 week mark.

thank you, he did a test at one of the STD testing centers and it came back with 2.48. my research has told me that anything under 3 can be a false positive so I ordered the Western Blot test from the University of Washington to confirm. I have the test. he just needs a doctor to order the labs and I cannot find one.

I'm from the houston area myself and drove up to Conroe community wellness center to get a biokit done, they drew blood and I waited a half hour to see the negative results myself! I had a low positive 1.8 and went to do the biokit but I feel I did it early at 11.5 weeks post possible exposure and plan to do another biokit at 16 weeks. It cost 40 bucks.
