Another "Do I have gHSV?" Question. *Detailed*

Heterosexual male 35. 10 second unprotected vaginal with woman with known ghsv1. Pulled out when I came to my senses.

I already have ohsv1 and take antivirals daily.

Cold came on the next night and persisted off and on for about a month actually. Did have a fever about 11-12 days after (second round of ongoing cold) Odd symptoms started about 2 weeks after encounter.

Tingling butt and back of thighs, uncomfortable in jeans when they touched back of thighs. Irritating.
Warm lower abdomen some days later, even went up my back at some times.  slightly inflamed butt crack. Found myself resituating a lot when sitting or driving.  No lesions. Obsessively checked with full length mirror and iPhone. HA

Symptoms went away and I was good for a week or so. Then got a large zit on upper thigh that was painless and I popped. Zit like pus came out. Thick. Creamy. Not clear.  Not herpes like. Went away after a couple days no scabbing or crusting.  It's just odd for me to get a large protruding zit like that as it rarely if ever happens.

Still have very minor tingling in boxer short area. Mostly in crease of crotch now on one side. No rashes. Red marks. Spots. Lesions or blisters or sores. Could be anxiety induced. But sometimes have a hard time believing that.

Dermatologist appointment tomorrow but no lesions to swab.  Blood test?

What do you think?

I'm thinking she lied and it's actually ghsv2, it came in mild since I have ohsv1 and even milder since I take/took antivirals at the very first sign of any tingling/discomfort. Could the antivirals suppress any and all lesions from manifesting?

Suggestions? Ideas on what else it could be?  What does it sound like to you? I think  It's too much for it to be just genitally focused anxiety due to guilt.

Forgot to mention a couple things.

Before my symptoms popped up I got a pins and needles feeling at different spots all over my body. Not constant but consistent lasted for a couple days. Not sure if from anxiety or what other cause it could be. Normal for ghsv?

Also she said she was on antivirals as well.

Thanks

No realistc chance you contracted ghsv1. First off your oral infection gives you sort of an immunity to getting hsv1 anywhere else. That and genital to genital transmision of hsv1 is incredibly rare anyway. This is due to ghsv1 shedding so little and not being very potent when it does. You can relax as none of what you describe is really hsv symptoms. That and I am extremely confident you did not contract ghsv1.

I understand the odds which gives some comfort.  However I believe my defenses were quite low during this time. Even took a dose of prednisone before I realized what it did to the immune system (prescribed for bad cough).
I think she downplayed her ghsv as ghsv1 when it was really 2.  And my immune system was low at the time and allowed it to creep in albeit with mild symptoms.
At least that's the story that makes some sense to me. Hope that's not the case.
You clearly don't understand the odds or the immune system. Not a chance of hsv1. Hsv2 would be about the same from 10 seconds. Move on you surely did not contract hsv from this encounter.

I definitely know the odds.  But odds mean next to nothing when you've been exposed to the virus and begin to feel symptoms you've never before experienced roughly two weeks after exposure.

Know what I mean?

I held off looking anything up as long as I could. Plugged in my symptoms and it lead me to ghsv.  Hence my being here.

You're right. I definitely know nothing about how the immune system functions or antibodies or anything like that.  Happy to learn though.

I do appreciate your helping me and taking the time to answer people's questions. Thank you.

Last thing.

What are your thoughts on my taking antivirals at the early onset of tingling/irritation. Think the medication taken very early could have stopped the lesions from coming out and forming?

Thanks again.

Tingling like you describe is not a herpes symptom. In fact nothing you describe sounds like ghsv at all. That's a good thing. I surely wouldn't take antivirals.
