Doesn't look like any cold sores that I have seen... what could it be.

I had a horrible breakout along the inside and outside of my upper and lower lip as a child. i had a friend who always have cold sores, but my being young I never thought much of it so we would share chapstic and lip gloss. Now at 24, i have gotten a small painless (unless I scrap over it or press on it) bump on the outer part of my top lip.  It hasn't blistered or doesn't burn. Scab or anything.  It really reminds me of the breakout I had when I was younger.  What could it be?

have you ever had a type specific herpes igg blood test to know your status? if not, worth getting one so that you and any partners can make educated decisions about what precautions to take.

does this sound like a cold sore? no it does not. That doesn't mean you don't have oral herpes though which is why testing for it periodically is a good idea.

too hard to say- if you're really worried go to a doctor and get the area swabbed.
