My history :
22 years with HSV2
Very mild and infrequent outbreaks usually on the right side of the vaginal area but may have changed location.
I have a question.
In the last two years I have been having some issues near/in the (most often left sometimes right) anal opening. My doctor says it could be from yeast or my herpes. I'm wondering if a herpes outbreak would last as few as 2 1/2 to 3 days, from the time of initial soreness to completely healed. This info would help me and my doctor in diagnosing my recurring irritation.
If in fact this is a herpes recurrance, and this is where I will be getting them in the future, is the prodrome stage/viral shedding usually a day before outbreak or less? I have read other posts that the entire anogenital area can be shedding during prodrome. Is it shedding more where the outbreak is about to occur? Thirty six hours before this last possible outbreak, my husband slept naked next to me. I had my bikini undies on but he snuggled right up against my backside during the night quite a bit and before he fell asleep, added a quick pass beneath the undies (never near the anal opening or vagina). No grinding, no sex, no oral. I'm assuming zero risk ????
I've mentioned before on this site to Grace that I was more at ease with herpes when I thought it was just during an outbreak that you were to stay clear of skin to skin contact. The whole issue of viral shedding has me concerned about controlling transmission.during naked snuggling.
Thanks for all the great info and discussions.
