Terri. Thank you for your wisdom. I am very concerned even though I believe in your thoughts. I am seeing and feeling twitches and redness in my boxer area. I will get the igg test in 3-4 months. Can you tell me where I can get the biokit test that I have been reading about? The site that people mention does not seem to list labs. I think that it would really help my stress which has been keeping me from eating and sleeping good. What other tests should i be getting? Is there a full list of what and when? It seems like most doctors do not offer the full tests unless you ask. Thank you once again. You are amazing.
Your risk of getting herpes in one encounter, especially protected sex, is very low. It is not zero, but very low. The scabs are concerning, but the shoulder location is not a concern, just the lower one is. And it could certainly be something else, other than herpes.
I would suggest that if you are still concerned, you can get a herpes antibody test 3-4 months from the encounter. You want only an IgG type specific antibody test. Have you ever been tested in the past to know your herpes status so you have sort of a baseline to go from?
Again, your risk from a single protected encounter is very low.
Terri
