does being on antivirals at time of exposure to 10 days post exposure to herpes type 2 effect herpes blood test?

Terri Warren told attendees at a meeting in Portland this last year that the antivirals, when taken during the first episode DO affect the accuracy of the blood tests taken at that time.
However, if I understand you correctly, you were on antivirals for the first ten days, but did not have the IgG blood test done until 4 months past exposure? If so, your test is accurate. Per Anna Wald and Terri Warren, it can take up to 4 months (16 weeks) for an accurate result.

Yes you understand exactly. So it did effect the blood test because I took antivirals during the first episode right?
I had a fairly low risk exposure of unprotected oral sex giving and receiving and a accidental grinding together of the genitals for literally a second or so. but I am still experiencing all the symptoms of herpes.

I did not continue with daily Valtrex it was just from time of exposure to 10 days after
Cabin is correct, when i read your post i though that the partner was on antivirals not you.
Taking antivirals inhibits the reproduction of the virus in the begining stages. How long after stopping did you test and tell us about the test results.
I waited 15 weeks after stopping antivirals to test. I had a test done at 5 weeks after stopping valtrex. The test used was captia igg results were
Hsv2: .12
Then I had another blood test using herpes select at 15 weeks after stopping valtrex and my results were hsv2: .19
Hsv2: .12
Then I had another blood test using herpes select at 15 weeks after stopping valtrex and my results were hsv2: .19
One last question so at this point I shouldn't be to concerned that I got anything from this sort of encounter?
7 month herpes select hsv2 negative is it time to give up the idea of herpes at this point
