Timinboston...what im reallly saying is that if ive been exposed all these years and finally decided to take a test after seeing symptoms years back im sure the tests would be valid...i understand what your saying... Interms of i didnt have contract the virus during the 6-7 years..but what im saying is that if i see symptoms within those years and test negative for hsv-2 and positive for hsv-1, it could be possible that its the hsv-1causing these symptoms.
The point is that you have not contracted the virus as of probably a handful of weeks leading into the test. This is not uncommon. If this partner is on antivirals and is careful to have sex during outbreaks then transmission can be very low.
Are you sexually active with multiple people? Your symptoms are pretty typical for an average sexually active, fit male. We all get pimples abrasions, skin complaints in the area.
So you're still with this girl? You're not making sense. If you are still sexually active with an hsv2 positive partner, your negative tests are not valid. If you have sex with anyone whose hsv status is unknown in the past 90 days, your negative tests are also not valid.
Thanks for the reply....the exposure started 7 years ago..so I've been exposed since then. Ive been tested positive for hsv-1 but the thing is ii experience these so called herpes symptoms frequently and we know that genital hsv-1 hardly reactivates so im pretty confused
Wasn't the exposure to the partner in question many years ago? If so the results are conclusive, you do not have HSV2.
Don't go looking back trying to align symptoms to herpes, apart from characteristic blisters (which have a handful of explanations) other symptoms have numerous explanations.
