IgG

My IgG was .02 for hsv 1 and .14 for hsv 2. Though apparently unrealiable, my IgM was 1.73. My doctor said I probably contracted some type in the last month. I had originally gone in (on June 21) for a small rash around my vagina and my labia hurting. I still have the rash. I got these results on June 29, and the last time I had sex was May 25 or 26. I have been having sex with him for about a year but he slept with another girl a few times, ending in the spring. Will my hsv 2 results likely increase to a positive by the time I go back at the end of august for another test? Is it more likely to increase than my hsv 1 since it's already higher? Thanks for any help, I'm terried and extremely upset. :(

if you have new symptoms, you should be seen again for further evaluation.

if your partner refuses to test for std's, wait and repeat your herpes igg blood testing again in 3 months too.

He tested me for a yeast infection, but I don't know about bacterial. That and the other STD tests came back negative. A few days ago I developed what looked like paper cuts on either side of my labia. They bled quite a bit, but i'm not sure if that means anything. I doubt if my regular partner has ever or would ever submit to an STD test. I don't think he would accept that he could have something and not have symptoms, or that someone lied to him about being free of STDs.

the herpes igm test is a greatly flawed test.  it's currently no longer recommended to be drawn on adults by the CDC. Your provider shouldn't be diagnosing herpes based on a + igm and really should stop drawing it in general on patients.

did your provider do any testing for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally when you were seen?

has your regular partner been tested for std's, including herpes, to know his status?
