Finger bumps

Recently my joints on my right fingers just the 2-5th fingers at the proximal interphalangeal joints were swollen. They stayed swollen for about 3 weeks now and they are now just going down. When I would hit my fingers by mistake they would hurt so bad. The throbbing pain was undescribable. A few of my fingers look like they have little black dots on them. As if I was stuck by a pin and there was a scab that built. thats how small the dots are. They arent on all 4 of my fingers. only on 2 of them. they mainly didnt feel like anything just swollen but sometimes they would itch and sometimes they wouldnt. I tried putting cortizone on it once and it was a terrible idea. the one finger started to burn so i decided against it. I'm really worried its herpes. I dont even know where I would have gotten it since i havent really been with anyone. The first time this happened was last year and it effected both of my hands. This time only 1 hand. And my thumbs never seem to be involved.

since they are gone, not a whole lot you can do. if they reoccur, see a dermatologist promptly.

i showed it to my doctor and she thought it was arthritis. she took blood for rheumatoid factor but it came out negative. i dont really know what to do next. the bumps have almost completely disappeared again.

herpes isn't likely to affect both hands.
