Folliculitis or worse...?

Two weeks before valentine's day, I noticed a bump under the skin. It was hard anc it didnt have a pustle on top of it. It was just there.  I have shaved that week so i figured it may have something to do with that. The day before valentine's day i shaved again. I try to space out my shaving so that i dont irritate and bleed. I usually shave between  my vaginal lips and my anus because hairs grows there. (Tmi , sorry). I didnt have any irritation then. My boyfriend came over for valentine's day. We had protected sex, and used Trojan Bareskin Magnum for the first time. I did feel a little sore afterwards, but that's usually because he pretty "different in size". Well, after he left i still didnt feel any discomfort. Days past, nothing. I did, however, had a few minor cramps. Which i figured was from me being on depo. The bump on the very top of my vaginal lip formed a pustle. I didnt touch it, but as I sat down one day it popped and began to drain. Then a few days later, more showed up. Not clustered or draining, just a little imflammed. I went to the doctors and got a urinalysis and Nuswab test. I asked the doctor what she thought it was. She just said, it looked irritated, but if it was herpes, it wouldn't be as much as i head and spread out like it was. She asked if my boyfriend had any break outs, and i told her no. Neither one of us had pain peeing, flu like symptoms. The most i had was the urge to pee. She prescribed me doxycycline and acyclovir  (just in case) not because she thought i had herpes.
The urinalysis came back with results negative to chlamydia, gonorrhea, yeast infection. Etc. The cramps and urge to pee was from a bladder infection. And then i had bacterial vaginosis. Which she prescribed another 10 day antibiotic for that. Im still waiting on the lab tests results sent from swabbing the bumps. The bumps have gone away since then and I'm not having any discomfort now. Should i be worried about anything?
I'd figure i got the underskin bump way before sexually intercourse wouldnt mean herpes,  and the very last i had sex before that was 7 months before had and havent any problems. It just scared me cause it didnt break out til the bump popped. I've also read that folliculitis can cause hair loss. I did notice some patches where hair should be a little baldish.

Hi Nurseinprogress23 - ask your doctor whether they did a PCR DNA swab for HSV on the bumps. I'd be very surprised if they didn't. If they did, just hang on and wait for the results. If they didn't, the very next time you have any bumps or lesions, insist on one. It's the most sensitive and accurate of the tests for HSV. You might also ask for an IgG type-specific test right now, to establish a baseline, then if it comes back negative, do a second IgG in about 13 weeks to see if antibodies have generated. Herpes presents in a lot of different ways, and a lot of conditions mimic herpes, so it's not possible to diagnose accurately from just your description.

This doesn't sound like herpes. However if this is of concern, shouldn't you mutually test with your new partner?
