That is the case that this would not be herpes given symptoms and duration. It is 8 weeks since last exposure so a blood test would be getting toward conclusive. Think about having one and again at 13-16 weeks.
Great thanks for this; but an update. I think I should go see doctor
After sending you this question on June 14th; on June 15th again I started to feel increased discomfort/redness on shaft on penis. The pain wasn't in the same area as where those sores first appeared. It was more towards the head of penis in the folds of skin. I took a very close look and pulled the folks tight and noticed 4 very little blisters. So, I took a hot bath; put some polysporin, 2 advil and went to bed. The next day the plan was less and the blisters seemed to disappear.
I am no idea what is going on. It is almost as if I am had a first outbreak, it healed and having a recurrence. It has been constant discomfort for 2 months now.
I just know if herpes could be a sustained event like this; or if I have a bacterial infection that is not going away.
Today I left some tingling in my thighs, and feet. Again I don't know if that is infection and my lymph nodes at work or the virus travelliing the nerve.
This is so very confusing and makes me feel quite sad with uncertainty
I have not experienced any sores in anus or on thighs.
Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
The small blisters is of course an indicator of a potential herpes infection and the overall list of symptoms has some alignment. This to me would definitely suggest seeking a swab straight away and that final blood test at 12-16 weeks. Having a blood test now would be around about 90% certain.
They can be small indeed, often missed, but I'm not too sure about the small length of time involved here.
I am starting to feel less optimistic that it is not herpes
I am not sure what you mean " but I'm not too sure about the small length of time involved here. "??
Just that a herpes lesion would not tend to disappear overnight.
It is not a great feeling to live in a diagnosis limbo. Get a swab if you can and definitely a blood test to move things forward.
Remember though that there is no confirmation that the person you were with even has herpes.
ah I see. Ok, I am actually going to have a warm bath just now and I am going to check that same area again. See if blisters are still there and perhaps I was mistaken.
I am bit scared to have test; but I know that is not very responsible. I am just hoping that it disappears.
Correct; the person that I was with actually went and had a blood test after I told her of my concern some 2 months ago. She tells me it was negative; so I will trust her.
You know; there is one other thing I should have shared. Not sure your understanding of this. I was taking propecia for hair loss; and stopped taking about 3 months ago or so. This drug as I understand cuts testomrone. I wonder if stopping it cause test to rise again and caused this...I don't know; I am at a loss. I have read about effects of stopping propecia and no comment has come up about penis infections.
Propecia would not cause such side effects I can assure you. Sex drive, libido, and erection issues are possibilities with longterm use of that drug. Not sores. Eliminate this as a possible correlation.
Fleet has provided the best advice. Id follow his instructions and seek a swab and blood test immediately. What you describe sounds like a herpes infection without a doubt. Multiple grouped blisters and swollen nodes are clear indicators.
Please test. Wish you the best.
Ok, Thanks to both very much.
I am abit scared of getting tested for fear of the worst. Not the best strategy I know. Trying to play " doctor" for myself and research as much as possible.
However, you folks are correct that I need to get tested; and I understand that is the right thing to do for me.
Thanks so much much
