Possible herpes outbreak. Please help!!!

Ok, so I've been seeing this girl for three months and we went about a month without sexual contact. The last time we had sex was about two and a half weeks ago. I wore a condom and sex lasts maybe 15 minutes.  Five days ago I felt a little pinch in my pubic region about an inch to the left of my shaft where it's covered by hair. Monday was the day I felt that pinch and by Tuesday night I could see some pink bump starting to form, it's been five days and it's still itching and has a burning sensation to it, once a day I pinch it trying to pop it (I know it's stupid to do so but I'm just hoping to get some white discharge out of it to clear my mind that it's not herpes). It didn't pop and I can't see it being a water filled blister like the ones I would get around my lips (I've dealt with the hsv 1 my whole life and I know what it's like) but the burning and itching seems identical. However I do see one tiny pubic hair on the pink bump itself, not in the middle of it but off to the side. It's still just one painful bump, not a cluster of them. So my question is this. Could this be herpes? I've never had any outbreak of herpes in my pubic area in my life. So now I'm wondering if I contracted this from the girl I've been seeing. I'm definitely not engaging in sexual activities until I know what's going on down there or get cleared. Today I went in to get blood drawn and tested for hsv 2 since I already know I have hsv 1 since I was a kid. Please help, I'm really hoping this is just a fungus or infected hair follicle.

So I got my results back, this is what I got "negative results <0.91"
The spot in my pubic region has not changed other than the pain being gone I'm left with a pink spot that looks the exact same. Not raised and doesn't seem filled with fluid like the sores I get on my lip from time to time. Any input from the community would be greatly appreciated.
